OFFICIAL COMMUNITY STATEMENT

ISSUED BY: Sue's Halfway Home NPO

DATE: 9 SEPTEMBER 2026

SUBJECT: CLARIFICATION ON ORGANIZATION FUNDING, OPERATIONS, AND OFFICIAL REPRESENTATIVES

1. Financial Transparency & Funding Reality
Sue’s Halfway Home NPO operates without fixed corporate sponsors, government subsidies, or monetary funding reserves. We do not hold operational funds in our account for general distribution.

Targeted Donations Only: Any physical items or contributions received from individuals are requested for specific, pre-planned community initiatives. These donations are distributed directly to intended projects and are never retained or misused for administrative purposes.

Founder Funding: Bank account maintenance, service fees, daily running costs, and outreach travel expenses are funded out of pocket by our Founder, Sue Deke, transferring personal funds from her private account.

Operational Expenses: Community visits, transportation, and day-to-day outreach rely on the Founder’s personal contributions, a fact fully verified and documented by our Operations Manager.

2. Expectations Regarding Assistance
We urge community members to stop spreading unfounded rumors regarding the organization's financial standing. Sue’s Halfway Home NPO does not hold emergency reserve funds, cash grants, or immediate financial aid awaiting distribution. Community members should not expect immediate financial relief, as resources are raised strictly on a project-by-project basis.

3. Official Organization Representatives
To avoid confusion and misinformation, please note that only two individuals are active, working members authorized to speak on behalf of the organization, manage operations, or discuss our vision and mission:
Sue Deke (Founder) MakaOwami NoNkanyiso
Thembi Hlongwane (Operations Manager) Termbee Precious Hlongwane

No other individuals represent, manage, or hold knowledge of the daily operations or administrative decisions of Sue’s Halfway Home NPO. Anyone seeking accurate information or wishing to discuss organizational initiatives must approach these two representatives directly.

"It is in your hands to make of our world a better place." — Nelson Mandela 🇿🇦✨

Celebrating 67 Minutes for Mandela Day! On the 18th of July, our team took to the streets to honor Madiba’s legacy by serving hot cup-a-soup to underprivileged members of our community and anyone in town who wanted to share a warm bite with us. 🍵❤️

Small acts of kindness, done together, create big changes. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, helped out, and made this day so special!
