Under the umbrella of CAASA, CUAASA purpose is to represent the interests of member companies, affiliated groups and associations at local, national and regional levels. The Commercial Unmanned Aircraft Association of Southern Africa (CUAASA) was formed in 2013 by a group of like-minded individuals and organisations who saw the need to join forces and act as a support organisation and mouthpiece f

or the rapidly developing commercial unmanned aircraft industry. The commercial unmanned aircraft industry is projected to be one of the largest creators of employment globally over the next decade. Many commercial operators in Southern Africa has invested heavily in technology and research despite a void in the local legislation, with aerial photography, mapping and surveillance the most popular applications. CUAASA is affiliated with CAASA (The Commercial Aviation Association of South Africa) and UVS-Internationaland is positioned to work with all stakeholders to find a suitable framework and eventual legislation for the operation commercial unmanned systems in Southern Africa.
