It is time for World Disco Soup Day 2026 on Saturday 25 April - and it is also the 10th anniversary of this international event aimed at spreading awareness about food loss and waste!

We will once again be celebrating at Ejaradini in Midrand, and like last year, we have hundreds of kids coming for a meal and to receive some toys - so we'll definitely need some helping hands!

Come join us as we chop, cook, clean, serve - as well as eat and party!

Kindly RSVP: [email protected]

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical giving. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbour out, or showing up for an issue or people we care about, we each have something to contribute. Identify your gifts, pick a cause that gets you fired up, and give back – not just today but every day.

29 September is the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste - join NOSH in raising awareness, taking action and supporting more sustainable food systems!

It costs roughly R10 to rescue produce equivalent to one nutritious meal - so for the price of a cappuchino, you can help us feed 5 people!

Yesterday the students from the Soweto Chefs Academy were presented with a plethora of rescued ingredients for today's Odd Plate Heritage Day lunch at Lebo's Soweto Backpackers and guided by their principal, Fatima Dludla, started furious menu planning with the abundance. Today they are in the kitchen, cooking up a storm - we can't wait to see what their collective imagination and creativity conjures up!
