I received a call from Fourways Vet Hospital on Tuesday. Someone had brought in a baby bunny, again caught by the cat 😢

These poor babies. Hardly have a chance to start their little lives and they end up going through such a terrible ordeal. And those are the lucky ones who make it.

This little one is at least a bit older than yesterday’s baby (who didn’t get any milk sponsored 🥺), but still very risky for such a small little being.

She has joined two other tiny buns also caught by cats that came in about 2 weeks ago.

In the meantime if anyone could sponsor this baby, any amount will help. I really need help getting some milk. It would be hugely appreciated 🙏🏻

This tiny little being was caught by a cat.

Although very sad that such a small little being has to go through such trauma at such a young age, the cat fortunately took his ‘catch of the day’ home to his human.

Little baby will go to baby whisperer Anri, and hopefully pull through.

We just have one small glitch, we are all out of kitten milk.

If anyone could sponsor a tin it would help so so much 🧡. It’s around R400 ($25) a tin. (We mostly use goats milk, but add some baby cat milk to the mixture for the much needed protein).

There are 8 beautiful bunnies who didn’t get sponsored ☹️. Do we have 8 people who could each sponsor a bunny? Maybe 4 people who could sponsor 2 each? What about 2 people who could sponsor 4 each? Or, the big one, 1 person who could sponsor ALL 8 the bunnies 😅♥️🫢

💔😪 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱, 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 😪💔

I received a message on Friday morning about a bunny on the grounds of a large construction company with what seemed to be a prolapse uterus.

I rushed there as soon as I could and fortunately had a 3pm appointment at the vet. It was just a case of catching the bunny before then.

She was really a sad sight. She’s a feral bunny so she does not know to trust humans and of course ran from me like the wind, with her uterus dangling along 😪. It luckily did not take too long to catch her and we were off to the vet. (I expected to struggle on those big grounds).

At the vet she immediately received emergency surgery, which went really well, but during her recovery her little heart stopped beating. That fragile little animal just couldn’t anymore. Even though help came, even though she received the best treatment, her little body decided it was all just too much and went to rest. I am so sorry little girl I really did try 😢

I have her vet bill of R2500 ($157), to pay. I would really appreciate any help towards it.

I mentioned getting the bunnies on this property sterilised. I was told they were not wanted there, so I’m not sure if they would be willing to sponsor their sterilisation. I will follow up.

I have bills coming out of my ears. I really don’t want to have to do one of those posts that says ‘we have run out of food’ 😔

I woke up to this message this morning. And then I wonder why I have such anxiety all the time.

With the assistance of arcrabbitassist, we are trying our absolute best to find temporary homes for them until permanent homes can be found. So if you can offer either please leave a comment. If possible not too far from the Randburg area.

Most importantly right now we need funds to sterilise them all. That’s a cost of around R10000. Anyone got that laying around that they would like to donate 🫢☺️. Yes, I’m just joking. But if you can donate any amount towards their steris, it will help so much ♥️. (R500 a bunny, $31) and allow us to focus on finding them suitable homes.
