We're proud that the Hippo Roller can play a small part in helping families store and transport water more safely and efficiently, and we hope many more households will benefit from this support.
For years, Mrs. Nancy Mbambo and her family have lived with the uncertainty of unreliable water access.
Nancy, in her late 50s, shares her home in Mpophomeni's Koria Section with approximately seven to eight family members. Like many families' facing water insecurity, daily life has often revolved around the question: "Will there be water today?"
When water is scarce, every task becomes harder. Cooking, cleaning, washing clothes, and caring for loved ones all require careful planning and sacrifice.
Recently, Unity Water Foundation, together with Sisonke Youth & Disabilities Foundation, delivered a 60-litre Hippo Roller to the Mbambo family.
We are always humbled to see what a gift can bring dignity.
Now, when water is available, the family can hygienically store it for the days when the taps run dry.
Sometimes the most meaningful solutions are also the most practical.
A Hippo Roller cannot solve every challenge a family faces, but it removes a daily burden that they have carried for years.
