Today is the day!
We're excited to be gathering at Maharishi Invincibility Institute in Johannesburg to celebrate Youth Day 2026 under the theme:
Youth in Action: R1 Billion in Motion.

As South Africa marks 50 years since the events of 16 June 1976, we're taking time to reflect on the power of young people to shape our country's future.

The theme reflects a milestone we are incredibly proud of: since 2019, youth@WORK has facilitated more than R920 million in youth salaries, creating opportunities for over 17,155 young people while helping small businesses grow and thrive.

Today's programme includes:
• A keynote address by Hon Stella Tembisa Ndabeni, Minister of Small Business Development
• Reflections on youth@WORK's journey to R1 Billion in Motion
• Stories from entrepreneurs and business builders
• Youth and small business success stories
• A vibrant Youth Entrepreneur Marketplace showcasing innovation in action
Most importantly, today is about celebrating the young people, partners and funders who continue to prove that when youth are given access to meaningful opportunities, entire communities benefit.

Africa Day is a moment to look forward.

At Youth@WORK, our vision is to expand youth work enablement across Africa, connecting young people to work that builds skills, income and momentum.

Aligned with this year’s focus on “Education Fit for the 21st Century”, our youthPROFILER helps identify learners’ strengths and gaps early. Using technology, we equip parents and teachers with clear insights and practical guidance to improve learning.

We also train and deploy youth to support schools, helping administer assessments, analyse results and drive targeted interventions that close learning gaps.

When youth grow, businesses grow - and so does Africa.

We know that many young mothers are carrying
heavy responsibilities while trying to provide for their
children, manage financial pressure, stay focused at
work and still hold everything together emotionally.

Our Wellness Team speaks with young people every
day and we continue to see how many young
mothers are trying to stay strong even when they are
emotionally exhausted.

If things have felt heavy lately, know that feeling
overwhelmed does not mean you are failing; it means
you are carrying a lot.

Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do is speak
to someone, ask for support and allow yourself
moments to rest and reset.

Motherhood is one of life’s most selfless yet beautiful journeys. 💛It is filled with the kind of strength that keeps showing up for others, even on the most challenging days.

Today, we honour every woman who carries the heart of motherhood — the mothers, grandmothers, aunties, sisters and caregivers who uplift others with love and grace.

Thank you for the impact you make in the lives of those around you.
