A note from Simamnkele Vanqa from Clean Queenstown for anyone able to assist him:

"With the aftermath of the recent flooding, all the dirt of the Komani river has flowed down into town starting from behind the Catholic cathedral all the way down to the taxi rank, past the town prison.

My team and I would like to start working immediately by fixing up all the damaged bridges as well as cleaning up the river.

However, we are in desperate need of tools like a chainsaw and bush cutters cause we need to cut down some of the trees on the sides of the river as they have caught all the rubbish flowing down the river.

I will also need to equip my team with safety gear like gloves and gumboots seeing as we'll be working inside the river and lastly we really need transport in order to go dispose all the rubbish or deliver some of the recyclable materials in the river as it will be the only way I am able to pay my staff.

We know that there's going to be a huge municipal budget that they will claim is going towards "disaster relief".

However I'd like us to prove that it won't cost nearly as much as they'll claim it will and it certainly won't take as long to react to the problem.

May you please help us.🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thank you".

If you can help, please contact Simamnkele on 081 882 5271
