Need for Needs NPO CEO Condemns GBV and Killing of Women in Gauteng

The CEO of Need for Needs NPO, Rasifudi Zwothe, has condemned the continued killing of women and the scourge of gender-based violence (GBV) in Gauteng.

Speaking at the Protea Hotel in Pretoria on Monday, Zwothe expressed concern over the growing violence against women and called for stronger action to protect women and ensure that perpetrators face justice.

Zwothe said the killing of women remains a serious concern that requires a collective response from communities, civil society organisations, law-enforcement agencies and government.

The CEO reaffirmed Need for Needs NPO’s commitment to supporting efforts aimed at combating GBV and promoting safer communities across Gauteng.

“Women deserve to live in safety, dignity and freedom from violence,” Zwothe said.

Need for Needs Foundation is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of young lives in a car crash yesterday at Vanderbijlpark Sebokeng. We respectfully request that the Government and relevant authorities conduct a thorough investigation into this matter to provide closure and accountability. We advocate for the revocation of the taxi driver's license, pending the outcome of the investigation, and deregistration with the Department of Roads and Transport due to alleged violation of road laws. Furthermore, we request the authorities to take appropriate action against the driver, in accordance with the law, should the investigation reveal culpable conduct. We also request that the relevant authorities investigate the alleged negligence and carelessness on the part of the pupil involved and take necessary action.
