Stand against GBV, no matter the gender of the victim.

He was lying in the middle of the street.

Near a police station.

Screaming for help.

And nobody came.

When people talk about domestic abuse, many picture a woman trying to escape a violent partner.

But what happens when the victim is a man?

What happens when he's bigger, stronger, and physically capable of fighting back...
..but knows that if he does, he could be the one arrested?

Many male survivors describe feeling trapped between two impossible choices:

Endure the abuse.

Or risk not being believed.

For some, the fear isn't just the violence.

It's the shame.
The ridicule.
The accusations.
The belief that nobody will take them seriously.

One survivor asked:

"What am I supposed to do when police don't believe me, my friends make fun of me for getting beat up by a girl, and she's still stalking my every move?"

Domestic abuse doesn't have a gender.

And survivors shouldn't have to prove they deserve help.

This week, UnsilencedMen joined OfficialSanca Soshanguve at Tsaroga-Phoka Primary School to engage Grades 5–7 learners on the power of making positive choices.

Through real-life experiences, meaningful conversations, and interactive participation, learners were encouraged to choose discipline, responsibility, and purpose as they navigate their journey through life.

A special thank you to Dumisani Nyundu and Garry Nkosi for investing in the future of our young people.
