ear old) ready to follow Jesus, work as volunteers on camps, serve communities, and gain valuable life experience while earning select qualifications. JOURNEY is hosted by the Uniting Christian Students Association of South Africa (UCSA/VCSV).

Journey is nie ’n gapingjaar nie – dit is ’n diensjaar met buitelugavontuur, bedieninggeleenthede, leierskapopleiding en vaardigheidsontwikkeling, gemik op jong volwassenes (18–23 jaar oud) wat gereed is om Jesus te volg, as vrywilligers by kampe te werk, gemeenskappe te dien en waardevolle lewenservaring op te doen terwyl hulle sekere kwalifikasies behaal. More than just learning how to navigate mountains. 🏔️

The Journey team recently completed a Mountain Guide Course, where they were challenged to grow in leadership, decision-making, navigation, risk management, and caring for others in the outdoors.

Long days, steep climbs, practical skills, and plenty of lessons learned along the way. The mountains have a way of teaching resilience, teamwork, and confidence like few other places can.

What an incredible experience and investment into the leaders these young people are becoming. 💪⛰️

5 days. Countless kilometres. Tired legs, full hearts.

The Journey team had the privilege of joining Metamorpho on the Fanie Botha Trail — a hike that challenged us physically, mentally, and spiritually. Every steep climb, aching muscle, and early morning was worth it for the lessons learned, the memories made, and the beauty we encountered along the way.

It wasn't easy, but some of the best growth happens on the hardest paths.

An experience we'll never forget. 🥾⛰️✨
