🎄❤️ CHRISTMAS PROJECT 2026 – LET’S MAKE A DIFFERENCE! 🐍🎁

Each year the Cobra Association of SA gets involved with various Christmas outreaches to make Christmas a little bit more special for those in need of some Christmas magic.

Our first outreach is on the 20th of November to The Sonneblom Kombuis at Laerskool Witpoort, Pretoria East (Garsfontein). They are undertaking a special Christmas outreach project for 28 underprivileged children at the school, and the Cobra Association of South Africa is proud to get involved!

Christmas should be a time of joy, excitement and feeling special. ❤️

We are more than just a community of Cobra owners. We are people who share a passion, build friendships and have the opportunity to use that passion to give back.

After all..."It's the most wonderfull time of the year!"

IF YOU OWN A COBRA, OR YOU’RE BUILDING YOUR DREAM COBRA, THIS IS YOUR COMMUNITY!

You’ve spent years dreaming about it. Maybe you’ve already got the keys to your pride and joy. Maybe your Cobra is still taking shape in your garage, one bolt, one part and one late night at a time.

Either way, you belong with us.

Welcome to the Cobra Association of South Africa — the largest Cobra owners’ community in South Africa, and the No. 1 choice for Cobra owners who want to be part of something bigger than just their car.

We’re not a fan club. We’re a community built for the people who OWN Cobras and the people who are BUILDING them.

Here’s what makes being part of our community so special:

INCREDIBLE EVENTS & UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCES

From Cars in the Park to the Festival of Motoring, we bring Cobra owners together to showcase these iconic machines, meet fellow owners and enjoy the passion we all share.

And our Concours event? More than 50 Cobras on display! Just imagine standing among that many magnificent machines, surrounded by people who understand exactly why you love these cars.

REAL HELP WHEN YOU NEED IT

Building a Cobra can be a journey full of questions, challenges and technical headaches. That’s why our members have access to various dedicated WhatsApp groups, including our Workshop Group, where you can connect with fellow owners and builders for practical advice, shared knowledge and real-time assistance.

Because sometimes, the right answer from someone who has been there is worth its weight in gold.

A COMMUNITY THAT GETS YOU

No need to explain why you love the sound of a V8, why the smallest detail matters, or why you can spend hours talking about a car most people simply don’t understand.

Here, you’re among your own kind. We share the passion, the knowledge, the stories, the road trips and the friendships that make Cobra ownership so much more rewarding.

WE EVEN HAVE OUR OWN SHOP!

Show your pride with Cobra Association merchandise from our online shop. All items are sold under licence from Shelby Inc. USA:

🐍 IF IT WASN’T FOR REPLICAS, HOW MANY PEOPLE WOULD EVER EXPERIENCE THE DREAM OF OWNING A COBRA?

Let that sink in for a moment.

Imagine a world where the Cobra existed only in museums, private collections and the garages of a privileged few. Where the legendary shape, the unmistakable sound and the thrill of driving a Cobra were nothing more than a dream for the vast majority of enthusiasts.

That is exactly why the debate between original Cobras and replicas deserves a different perspective.

We don't have to choose one to celebrate the other. There is a place for BOTH.

🏁 THE ORIGINAL COBRA — A PIECE OF HISTORY

Few cars have captured the imagination of car enthusiasts quite like the legendary AC Cobra. The original cars represent an extraordinary chapter in automotive history, carrying the heritage, provenance and historical significance that made the Cobra a legend.

Their rarity and authenticity make them highly sought-after collector cars. There is something truly special about standing next to an original and knowing you are looking at a genuine piece of motoring history.

Original Cobras deserve our admiration, respect and protection.

🐍 THE REPLICA COBRA — KEEPING THE DREAM ALIVE

Let's be honest: authentic Cobras are exceptionally rare and financially out of reach for most enthusiasts.

Replicas open the door to that dream.

They allow people to experience the iconic design, the driving excitement and the unmistakable spirit of the Cobra without needing the wealth required to own an original.

They give enthusiasts the opportunity to build their dream car, share it with their families, attend events, join fellow owners and introduce a new generation to this incredible automotive legacy.

They also support specialist builders, engineers, parts suppliers and an entire community built around these cars.

And perhaps most importantly, replicas take the Cobra from the pages of history and put it onto our roads, where new generations can see it, hear it and fall in love with it.

Every replica on the road is another opportunity to spark someone's interest in the Cobra story. Every gathering is a chance to share the history. Every new enthusiast helps keep the legend alive.

TWO DIFFERENT CARS. ONE SHARED PASSION.

Let's be clear: an original Cobra and a replica are not the same thing. Their origins, authenticity, history and values can be very different.

But appreciating a replica does not diminish the value of an original. And respecting an original does not mean dismissing the contribution of a replica.

One preserves the history. The other helps carry the dream forward.

Both can inspire the next generation. Both can bring people together. And both can play a role in keeping the Cobra spirit alive.

At the Cobra Association of South Africa, we believe the passion for these cars is bigger than the badge on the chassis.

We celebrate the people, the craftsmanship, the stories, the friendships and the shared love of the Cobra.

Because the future of this legendary car is not secured by arguing about who belongs in the community. It is secured by growing that community, sharing its heritage and inspiring more people to become part of the story.

The original created the legend. Replicas help keep that legend alive for generations to come.

There is room in the Cobra world for both originals and replicas.

And there is room in our community for everyone who shares the passion.

What's your view? Let's have the conversation — with respect for every enthusiast.
