On behalf of the SASACC National Council, the SASACC anglers, the greater SA fly fishing community and South Africa 🇿🇦 we would like to congratulate the Protea Ladies Fly Fishing Team being crowned as the World Champions 🏆🥇
This includes the team management and each lady. What a committed team effort!!

CIPS WORLD YOUTH FISHING COMPETITION 2026

Today marks the official start of the CIPS World Youth Fishing Competition 2026!

Young South African anglers, this is your opportunity to compete against other young anglers from around the world while fishing in your own home waters.

CIPS, the International Sport Fishing Confederation, is the international governing body representing competitive sport fishing across freshwater, sea and fly-fishing disciplines. SASACC is South Africa’s official CIPS member and represents our country’s competitive anglers internationally.

The competition is open to boys and girls in two age categories:

🔹 Juniors: 10 to 16 years
🔹 Seniors: 17 to 22 years

Participants can compete in sea shore angling, sea boat angling, fly fishing, carp angling and lure angling.

All qualifying fish must be correctly measured, recorded through the Keepnet Way Bay Fishing App and successfully released while the video is still recording. Each angler may register a maximum of five fish from different qualifying species.

Competition period: 1 August 2026 to 31 January 2027

This is a fantastic opportunity for our young anglers to test their skills on an international platform and proudly represent South African angling.
