Hunger Relief | Mamelodi 🤍🧡💚

At The Eye of Hope, hunger relief is more than a soup drive or feeding scheme. It is a bowl of hope, offering dignity, care, and practical relief to those experiencing destitution during difficult times.

Through our collaborative efforts with Mountains and Valleys NPO, we have, to date, impacted over 500 people since the inception of this partnership, 200 of whom were reached since the beginning of the year. In the past week alone, 62 individuals were supported during the devastating fires in the Plastic View Informal Settlement, Mamelodi.

This is the power of collaboration: it reaches where individual efforts cannot, and strengthens the fabric of sustainable community response.

As we move toward our 8th anniversary, we are anchoring all our programs in partnerships because we believe collaboration must sit at the center of sustainable community development.

From 21-28 February, the African continent and its diaspora come together to celebrate African Languages Week, a significant event that highlights Africa's unparalleled linguistic diversity, which comprises over 2,000 languages.

In recognition of this linguistic wealth, the African Union (AU) established the African Academy of Languages (ACALAN-AU) as a specialised institution aimed at harnessing the power of this diversity.

During this week, all member states of the AU are encouraged to reflect on the importance of African languages and cultures. This celebration serves as an opportunity to emphasise the integral role of these languages in shaping African identity and heritage.
