Troop regatta 2025 was an insanely tight competition that showcased just how tough and full of scouting spirit our scouts are
Despite all the rain and hurdles the scouts went through they showcased scout law number 8 and 9 beautifully and the the spirit did not die even once!

We are extremely proud of all the scouts but especially to the vulture patrol for being our overall winners!
Well done guys and we look forward to seeing even more improvement and skill from all our patrols again next year ⛵️🛶⚜️

The first day of our birthday celebration is officially over and it was awesome!

We've had an extremely busy day that included lots of sailing, canoeing, Rowing, of which even our parents participated in, and lots of food. Our boys also made us extremely proud by removing illegal fishing gill nets from the dam and setting many fish free back into the water! Lastly we ended off our day with a camp fire led by our patrol leaders and we are looking forward to the day 2 festivities 🎂⚜️

On Saturday the 7th of June the troop had a shooting trails day to choose our Field day shooting teams

Our SGL Odin and ATS Kraken ran the training and made sure the scouts where as safe as possible while working with the fi****ms.
We even had some of our senior scouts helping out and showing the other less experienced shooters how its done! We are super proud of them and are excited to see how they will improve before field day comes around ⚜️🎯

On Friday the 23rd of May the troop did a heritage food tasting night as part of the National challenge!

The scouts did a cooking competition, and made bunny chow. Congratulations to Swifts patrol for winning!!

After the cooking competition the scouts got to learn about, ask questions and taste different cultures cuisine that the parents and adult helpers were so generous to prepare and bring for the scouts. It was an amazingly delicious night and the scouts and all adults got to learn something new

This past weekend at Kontiki 2025 we had 3 of our scouts camping with 37th Springvale as well as two of our Rovers camping with 6th St Andrews

The scouts got to experience true Kontiki competition by joining in on land competitions and Our Rovers played an essential role of safety by being Seaworthiness judges and being part of the safety crew

It was tons of fun and the troop would like to thank all the organizers for an amazingly planned event and to 37th Springvale Scouts Group and 6th Pretoria St Andrews Scout Group for being such awesome hosts to our members who joined you in camping

2025-05-02 Friday Meeting

After flag break we had a game of tug-of-war with some of the scouters on each patrol’s team, followed by learning about some of the harmless and dangerous snakes found in South Africa.

Gryffen then led us in an identification game where we had to identify the footprints of different animals as an introduction to the trail game where we had to first identify what is “normal” or “natural” in the area before identifying what is unusual. This trail led us to a first aid situation where we had to assist Igor (who played the role of someone who took substances at a party) and follow first aid protocol.

We then went on to identifying the different footprints of the scouters that were present this evening and figure out what happened in a scenario based off of the footprints we had earlier identified. This was followed by closing parade ending off scouts for tonight.
