How long can we keep shying away from these conversations? I share the young ladies fears. When are we going to learn to do differently. When are going to focus on doing the right thing for the of generations that are coming. When are we going to think differently 🤔 😕 ...

Mark your calendar — the sky will turn blood-red in one of the decade’s most breathtaking celestial events.

On March 3, 2026, a dramatic total lunar eclipse will transform the Moon into a glowing crimson sphere for 58 unforgettable minutes. As Earth moves perfectly between the Sun and the Moon, our planet’s shadow will paint the lunar surface in deep red hues.

An estimated 2.5 billion people across the globe will have the chance to witness this rare spectacle.

For nearly an hour, the night sky won’t just be dark — it will be unforgettable.

Zimbabwe has pulled out of negotiations on a US$350 million US-backed health funding deal after President Mnangagwa ruled the arrangement compromised national sovereignty.

Government officials objected to Washington’s push for access to national health data and linkages to critical minerals.

The move also reflects Harare’s refusal to endorse a bilateral health architecture outside the WHO framework.

The decision comes as the US considers reducing humanitarian support to Zimbabwe and several other African countries.

In Argentina, a local bus company found an unexpected way to respond to winter hardship. As temperatures drop during the coldest months, the company offers free overnight rides to rough sleepers who would otherwise spend the night exposed to freezing air. Instead of idling empty in depots, certain buses remain in operation through the night, providing a moving shelter.

The initiative is coordinated with social services and local outreach groups. Individuals are invited to board at designated stops without paying a fare. The buses follow extended routes, circulating through the city to keep passengers warm and safe until morning. Drivers are briefed to treat everyone with respect, ensuring the ride feels like public transport — not a temporary refuge.

For people living on the streets, even one warm night can prevent serious health risks such as hypothermia. Heated buses offer protection from wind and cold rain, while also giving passengers a chance to rest. Some routes provide bottled water or basic support information for shelters and services available during the day.

The program does not replace permanent housing solutions, but it offers immediate relief during critical weather conditions. By using existing infrastructure creatively, the company turned transportation into protection.

In a season defined by harsh temperatures, these overnight rides show that sometimes mobility can mean more than movement — it can mean survival.

There are now more than 3,000 billionaires in the world. They own more money than ever. And they’re using it to buy power in politics.

A new report from Oxfam details the growing wealth gap and influence of the billionaire class. As 1 in 4 people face hunger, the world’s richest have amassed $18.3 trillion – a number that the organization says could solve “extreme poverty” 26 times over.

But beyond real estate and yachts, the richest class is buying influence. They’re backing political parties and candidates and purchasing media outlets, social media and AI, all of which help them control whose stories get told – and how.

As Gen Z-led protests amass around the globe, demanding better standards of living and an end to corruption, Oxfam says billionaire power has supported the oppression and scapegoating of marginalized groups, women and people in poverty.

In South African townships, creativity and culture come together in the form of upcycled oil drums transformed into solar-powered benches. These vibrant, multifunctional seats do more than just offer a place to rest—they’re equipped with solar panels and hidden speakers that play local music whenever someone sits down. The result is a joyful fusion of sustainability, community, and celebration.

Each bench begins its life as a discarded oil drum, cleaned and repurposed by local artisans. The drums are cut, shaped, and painted in bright, culturally inspired designs. A compact solar unit is installed to collect energy throughout the day. Once activated by weight or motion, the benches emit familiar sounds—ranging from township jazz to folk songs and youth-produced beats—bringing comfort, identity, and a sense of pride to public spaces.

These solar benches aren’t just clever designs—they’re social landmarks. They encourage interaction, preserve local sounds, and highlight the talent of nearby artists and engineers. Especially in under-resourced neighborhoods, they offer a spark of joy, safety, and cultural memory in places where urban infrastructure is limited.

Through music, color, and clean energy, these benches turn everyday rest into moments of connection and community celebration.

Concrete jungles don’t have to stay gray forever.

Mexico City has transformed ordinary highway pillars into towering green walls, turning infrastructure into living, breathing ecosystems. Thousands of plants now climb these columns, absorbing pollution, cooling surrounding areas, and softening the harsh urban landscape.

This bold initiative improves air quality while adding beauty to one of the world’s busiest cities. By blending nature with engineering, the city proves that sustainability can be woven directly into daily life. It’s a powerful reminder that even the most crowded мегacities can grow greener—one pillar at a time.

Quiet, turning, and brilliantly resourceful — in a small village in Argentina, one man’s wheel now lights the way.

A retired engineer, using only local materials and deep knowledge, built a water wheel that generates enough electricity to power the street lights of his entire community. It spins gently beside a flowing stream, converting the river’s current into steady light after sundown. No fuel, no grid, no noise — just self-sufficiency shaped by hands and hope.

In every rotation, his invention reminds the village — and those far beyond — that progress doesn’t always require power lines. Sometimes, it just needs a stream and a mind that never stops turning.
