On the 24th of September 2026, Heritage Day, our teams came together in a powerful collaborative effort to facilitate a drug awareness campaign through an educational tournament.
This marked the 5th Episode of our annual event. This year, we proudly built on the learnings from the in-depth community analysis conducted by the JCP students from the University of Pretoria (2025), allowing us to be more intentional and impactful.
The day featured 3 main pillars:
1. Soccer for Purpose: (Mighty Kings FC) & (Soshanguve Local Football Association)
Our boys learned and interacted through soccer, using the beautiful game as a tool to keep them off the streets and teach discipline, teamwork, and focus. We definitely donโt have room to entertaining drugs.
2. Athletics & Mentorship: (Emmanuel Musira) & BEHUM athletics and Becoming
An interactive athletics event led by our faith-based organisation partners (Becoming), focused on mentoring and supporting young boys. We were honoured to be joined by volunteers from Curro and some of South Africa's top athletes who came to inspire the kids and teach them the true spirit of athletics.
3. The Power of Reading: (Tshwarelo Gerry Mkhabela)
Teacher Tshwarelo continued her passionate reading campaign, which she has been championing throughout the month of September, reminding our kids that excellence is built both on the field and in the classroom.
