Some debts are worth paying... especially when they're all in the spirit of Nomads! 😄

At the 2026 Whale Nationals, Northerns and Gauteng Nomads added a little extra spice to the competition with a friendly wager. The deal was simple: the team with the lower scoring average would donate R1,500 to the winning team's Andrew Mentis Fund.

Unfortunately for us, Northerns came up just short, and a bet is a bet!

This week, our Vice Captain, Joe Khumalo, handed over the R1,500 donation to Sean McTiernan of Gauteng Nomads, honouring the commitment made at Whale Nationals.

Congratulations to Gauteng on their victory, and thank you for the great camaraderie. We look forward to the next challenge... and perhaps winning the next bet! 🍻⛳

Great to see that the "Bottle that keeps walking" is on the move again!

The bottle that keeps on walking. Boland Nomads Captain, Marius Swanepoel, hands over the very precious bottle of Johnnie Walker Blonde to Western Province Nomads captain, Andrew Doubell.

This bottle is touring around all of the Nomads golf clubs in South Africa, with each club posting a message on the back of the bottle. Next stop will be the Seaboard Tournament in August, where it will be passed on to ?????? Well you'll need to come back and see 😎

The Nomads Johnnie Walker Challenge is a premier annual competition hosted by Nomads Golf Club of South Africa. It brings together top club qualifiers from all 12 Nomads regional clubs for a multi-day national tournament.

How the Competition Works
Qualification: Members must play a minimum of 8 monthly games during a full Nomads calendar year to qualify.
The Finals: Winners from each of the 12 regional clubs advance to face off in a national final.

Format & Prizes: The event features competitive tournament rounds, supported by the Johnnie Walker brand and its popular "Blonde" and "Blue Label" golf initiatives.
