Blommetjie was given a home for six months, but then, sadly, everything had to change…

This beautiful two-year-old Africanis X was found outside a plot in Cullinan. The family who found her took her in and cared for her for six months, giving her the time she needed to settle into her new surroundings.

As Blommetjie became more comfortable, her playful personality began to shine through. Unfortunately, she sometimes became a little too rough and enthusiastic while playing with the Ouma of the family, and they eventually made the difficult decision to bring her to us.

During her time with the family, Blommetjie got along well with the other dogs on the property and was also good with their six-year-old child.

Since arriving at Wet Nose, she has been quite reserved while she adjusts to yet another change. However, the moment someone offers her a little love, she happily soaks up every bit of it. In fact, Blommetjie would choose affection over a treat any day.

Somewhere in Cullinan, someone may be searching for this little face…

This little Yorkie was found near the Cullinan train station on Sunday. The kind lady who found her shared her photo in local WhatsApp groups and asked around, hoping to find her family. Sadly, no one came forward.

She was brought to us today so that we could continue the search. She is well-groomed and has clearly been well cared for, which makes us believe that someone may be missing her very much.

Unfortunately, she is not microchipped. Situations like this remind us just how important microchipping is. It could mean the difference between being reunited within hours and a family never knowing where their beloved pet ended up.

For now, our priority is finding this little girl’s owner. Proof of ownership will be required before she is released.

At only seven months old, KC has already survived a dog attack, painful wounds and Babesia…

KC appeared on a property in Irene, but before anyone could work out where he had come from, the dogs living there attacked him. Thankfully, the family found him and rushed him to a vet, where his wounds were treated, and he also received treatment for Babesia.

The vet kept KC under close observation for a week while the family searched for anyone who might recognise or claim him. Sadly, no owner could be found, and KC was brought to us.

After everything he has been through, it is understandable that KC is still a little timid. He can be shy when meeting someone new and will often stay close to a person he trusts, but give him a little time and his gentle, loving nature begins to show.

What makes KC even more special is that despite being attacked, he still does well with other dogs. He has not allowed his frightening experience to take away his ability to trust.

KC is still so young, with his whole life ahead of him. He simply needs a patient, loving family who will help him feel safe and show him that he never has to be afraid again.

Casper was found in the bushes, soaking wet and freezing, with both of his back legs tied together with wire…

A security guard was on patrol when he noticed a dog lying among the bushes next to the road. When he got closer, he realised that something was terribly wrong and immediately contacted us for help.

We rushed out to fetch him, and the sight that greeted us was heartbreaking. It was one of the coldest days we have experienced in years, with icy winds and relentless rain soaking right through his thick Husky coat. With his back legs bound together by wire, Casper could not find somewhere warm and dry - all he could do was remain there, exposed to the freezing weather.

We carefully lifted Casper into the vehicle and brought him back to Wet Nose. The wire was removed, and we began warming him up before giving him a much-needed meal and a safe place to rest.

It has been three days, and Casper is still trying to make sense of his new surroundings. He is friendly and lets us gently show him love, but there is still so much uncertainty in his eyes.

Casper is not ready to look for a home just yet, but that time will come soon. Until then, please leave a kind message for Casper in the comments. He may not be ready for a family yet, but he deserves to have people cheering him on as he begins to recover.

Joey did nothing wrong. His family simply decided they no longer wanted him…

Joey thought he had already found his forever home. Then, at just two years old, he was brought back to Wet Nose because his family no longer wanted him.

Now he is back in a kennel, waiting for someone to choose him again.

What makes it even harder is that Joey is such an easy boy to love. He is relaxed, gentle and happiest when he is close to someone. While many dogs will do almost anything for a sweet, Joey is not too interested in treats. Attention is what he really wants.

Find the right spot while scratching him, and he will quietly lower his head into your hand, close his eyes and enjoy every second. It is a small moment, but one that shows just how loving and trusting he is.

Joey also gets along well with other dogs and cats, making him a wonderful companion for a family with other pets.

Cars passed Bianca as she wandered the street, then one woman pulled over…

Bianca, a one-year-old Africanis, was spotted on Boschkop Road near Diamond Hill. Thankfully, a kind lady pulled over and approached her. Bianca did not run away or make the rescue difficult - she happily went with her.

That friendliness is simply part of who Bianca is. She loves being around people, soaks up every bit of attention she can get and will never turn down a tasty treat.

Bianca may not know any tricks yet, but she is young, eager and very treat-motivated, so we believe she will learn quickly with someone willing to teach her. She also gets along wonderfully with other dogs and could fit beautifully into many different homes.

The road is no place for a friendly young dog like Bianca. She deserves to be growing up beside a family who will love her, teach her and make sure she never has to wander alone again.

This frightened little dog was running beside the R104…

This one-year-old Fox Terrier X was found alone on the R104, not far from Wet Nose. Thankfully, a kind man spotted him and pulled over to help.

Quincy was so frightened that it was relatively easy to pick him up. Even after arriving safely at our premises, he remained nervous and unsure of the unfamiliar people and surroundings.

Little by little, he began to open up. Once Quincy realises that he is safe with you, his loving personality starts to shine through. It does not take long before he is lying on his back, happily soaking up every belly rub he can get.

He may still be nervous when meeting someone new, but with a gentle approach and a little patience, he quickly begins to trust. He also gets along very well with other dogs, although he cannot be homed with cats.

Quincy has come a long way from the frightened little dog found beside the R104. Now he needs a family who will help him leave that uncertain beginning behind and show him how safe and loved life can be.
