TULIP : Tuks Leadership & Individual Programme TULIP is a student driven program which aims to holistically develop school children from rural areas to thrive in University and BEYOND!

There are a lot of problems currently being experienced in South Africa. Our economic position is very fragile with the world banking recently releasing a statement saying that South Africa is “flirting with stagnation if not recession”. A lot of pressure is being put on universities targeting various issues all based on the need for one thing: wide spread access to education. Universities are als

o experiencing huge financial pressures which are also
contributed towards by the reduction in throughput percentages as well as
the NSFAS debt situation. As students of the University of Pretoria, we would like to take pro-active measures to help relieve these pressures. We believe in initiative being taken by the students themselves to work with potential students to perform
according to their maximum capacity. TULIP(Tuks Leadership & Individual Program) is a student driven program which aims to holistically develop school children from rural areas to not only get to university, but also get through university so they can become contributing members of our economy.

Saturday’s TULIP Annual Dinner was one for the books! It was incredible celebrating alongside our 11th and 12th generations, our 10th generation Chairperson, and the amazing team who helped execute our goals this year.

Most importantly, we were joined by our inspiring students and the dedicated teacher who opened the doors for us to connect with these learners. 🌟

Ending on the highest note! ✨

On Saturday, August 1st, we wrapped up an unforgettable chapter with our TULIP Marketing Day! Learners stepped into the world of entrepreneurship—learning, pitching, and making their own money! 💡💰

This special event also marked our final Saturday visit for the 11th Generation as we officially hand over the torch to the 12th Generation. To make the day even more meaningful, we were able to provide pad donations to support our learners beyond the classroom. 🌸❤️

Thank you to everyone who made this day filled with so much growth, laughter, and community. Here’s to new beginnings and lasting impact! 🌷
