PACS Tuks

PACS Tuks A registered non-profit organization founded in 2016 and committed to teaching South Africa’s youth that archaeology is both exciting and important.

The introduction and teaching of basic archaeology in schools can be regarded as a good way of sustaining and encouraging the survival of the discipline (Clarke 2005). And this is the reason an archaeology club is being established. Vision
• To establish an archaeology club that will make learning about the past fun.
• Start the club from our closest town and reach to other parts of Africa. Goals

of the project

To change the mind-set of most young people and teach them that archaeology is not as boring as it has been stereotyped to be. The main goal in partaking in this project and involving the schools is to make learners from the townships and other disadvantaged schools understand the discipline of archaeology and what it is really about. And ultimately learn to appreciate their heritage and have open mind about things. This is also to encourage the youth to stay in school and further their studies in any specific field of their choice.
