Cancervive 4th Annual Fundraiser – Every Stitch Makes a Difference
What an unforgettable day! 60 amazing ladies gathered at Grounded Restaurant in Yzerfontein at 10:00, united by a shared purpose to knit and crochet with love for those in need, while raising awareness and celebrating life.
The restaurant was filled with excitement as everyone created beautiful beanies, bed socks, mittens, and soft toys that will bring warmth, comfort, and smiles to patients in public hospitals and residents of Cancer Care Homes. Together, the ladies also donated two trolleys overflowing with stationery, toiletries, and plenty of knitted goods, making an even greater difference to those in need.
For their R100 contribution, each guest enjoyed a delicious selection of three homemade soups, freshly baked bread, a drink, and a raffle ticket.
Adding to the excitement, fantastic raffle prizes were drawn every hour, generously donated by the Yzerfontein Community Business Team. The atmosphere was electrifying as our wonderful MC kept everyone motivated and entertained, enthusiastically calling out, “Knit, knit, knit!” after every draw.
The hours flew by as friendships were strengthened, laughter was shared, and countless items were lovingly made for those in need.
One moment that truly captured the spirit of the day came when one of the ladies shared that with every stitch, she sends a prayer that whoever receives the handmade gift will be healed. It was a simple yet powerful reminder of the kindness and generosity that filled the room.
