•Peglerae, is the quarterley newsletter of the Magaliesberg Section with mountain

eering news items, feedback on hiking and climbing meets, and announcements.
•The Magaliesberg mountain range lies in between the highveld savannah of the Witwatersrand and the African bushveld, stretching roughly from Rustenburg in the west, past Pretoria to Bronkhorstspruit in the east. This mountain range is almost 100 times older than Everest with interesting geology, archaeology, fauna and flora. The conservation of the Magaliesberg nature area is therefore important to the Magaliesberg Section.
•Public access to Mountain Club properties in the Magaliesberg is limited for reasons of conservation and to preserve a wilderness feeling. Depending on the kloof, a certain amount of members of the public can visit a specific kloof via a permit system.
