🩷💙 ’n Bietjie oor Fill A Tummy… 💙🩷

Ek wil graag vandag ’n bietjie oor Fill A Tummy NPC met ons gemeenskap deel — nie net oor wat ons doen nie, maar oor hoekom ons dit doen. ❤️

Daar is kinders in ons gemeenskap wat soggens skool toe gaan met ’n leë magie. Kinders wat probeer konsentreer, leer en speel, terwyl hulle eintlik net honger is.

Daar is mammas en pappas wat hul bes probeer om vir hul kinders te sorg, maar soms eenvoudig nie genoeg het nie. Die realiteit is dat ’n bord kos vir sommige gesinne nie ’n vanselfsprekendheid is nie. 😔

En dít is waar Fill A Tummy probeer help.

Fill A Tummy het in September 2023 begin met ’n baie eenvoudige droom: dat geen kind honger hoef te gaan slaap wanneer ons iets daaraan kan doen nie.

Wat klein begin het, het met die hulp van ongelooflike mense gegroei. Vandag help ons om voedselpakkies aan kinders en gesinne in nood te voorsien — veral gedurende naweke en skoolvakansies, wanneer ’n skoolmaaltyd nie daar is om ’n kind se magie te vul nie.

Maar hier is die moeilike deel…

Die behoefte is groter as wat ons alleen kan hanteer. 💔

Elke maand is daar nuwe name. Nuwe gesinne. Nuwe kinders wat hulp nodig het.

En tog… is daar ook hoop. 🩷

Want een persoon wat ’n sakkie pasta skenk, maak ’n verskil.

Een persoon wat R50 bydra, maak ’n verskil.

Een persoon wat ons plasing deel, kan ons by iemand uitbring wat ons nog nooit ontmoet het nie.

En wanneer baie mense elkeen ’n klein bietjie gee, word dit iets groot. 🥹💙

Ons vra dus vandag nie dat een persoon die wêreld moet probeer red nie.

Ons vra net:

Help ons om een tummy op ’n slag te fill.
Een kind. Een gesin. Een pakkie kos. Een klein bietjie hoop. 🩷💙

There are moments that remind you exactly why you do what you do. ❤️

A young man at school came to me, very shy, asking if I could perhaps help him with a pair of running shoes. He is passionate about Cross-country and dreams of qualifying to compete at SA level. 🏃‍♂️🇿🇦

The school kindly lends running shoes to learners for competitions, but they have to be returned afterwards. This young man wanted a pair of his own so that he could train at home and keep working towards his dream.

When I saw the state of his school shoes too, I knew we couldn't let him choose between the two.

Thanks to the incredible monthly donors of Fill A Tummy, we were able to buy him both a pair of running shoes AND a new pair of school shoes. 👟❤️

And then came my favourite moment…

Watching his face light up when he put them on. The pride. The smile. The way he stood a little taller.

It wasn't just a pair of shoes.

It was a little bit of hope, dignity and encouragement placed on his feet. ❤️

To our monthly donors: you made this moment possible. Your support reaches further than food parcels. It allows us to see a need, step in and say, “Yes, we can help.”

A Gift That Will Fill More Than Just Tummies! 🥩❤️

I am honestly speechless… there is SO much meat! 😭❤️

We received an incredible donation of mince – so much that I didn’t even count it all! 🙏🏼

To the wonderful people who made this amazing donation to Fill A Tummy: THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts! 🥹❤️

You may see it as meat, but to the families we support, it means so much more. It means a hearty meal. It means children getting to enjoy something special. It means a mom or dad can put a proper, filling meal on the table without having to worry about where the next meal will come from.

Our families are absolutely thrilled and incredibly grateful to be able to enjoy some meat with their meals. 🥹❤️

While most people are still waking up, we’re already on the road delivering food parcels to the families we support each month. 🚗🥹

Every parcel is more than just food. It’s a little bit of hope, dignity and relief for a family who needs it.

This morning, as I drive through the quiet streets watching the sun rise, I’m reminded once again of how incredibly blessed we are to be able to do this. ❤️

🌸 HAPPY WOMEN’S DAY FROM FILL A TUMMY 🌸

Today, we celebrate the incredible women who nurture, protect, encourage and uplift those around them. 💗

To every mother who makes a plan when there isn’t enough, every grandmother who keeps a family together, every sister who gives more than she has, every daughter who brings hope, and every woman who quietly makes a difference in someone else’s life — we see you, and we celebrate you. 🌷

At Fill A Tummy, we are reminded every day that behind every food parcel is a woman, a mother, a grandmother or a caregiver doing her absolute best to provide for her family.

Today, we honour her strength.
Her courage.
Her sacrifices.
And most of all, her heart. ❤️

May we continue to build a community where no woman has to carry the burden alone — where we look out for one another, lend a helping hand, and make sure that every tummy has a little more to smile about. 🩷

Soms is dit die kleinste geskenke wat die grootste glimlagte bring. 💙

Ons het nog 'n paar bokse oorgehad van Johannes Calvyn se skoenboks-projek, en Vrydag kon ons dit uitdeel aan die kinders wat ons weeklikse voedselpakkies ontvang.

Die opgewondenheid op hulle gesigte was onbeskryflik. Baie dankie aan almal wat deel was van hierdie mooi inisiatief. Julle liefde en omgee maak 'n groot verskil in 'n kind se lewe. 🩷

💙🩷 A Gift That Will Feed So Many Families 🩷💙

There are moments that leave us completely speechless, and this is one of them.

A massive THANK YOU to Harvia's Wildsvleis Bewerking for their incredibly generous donation of 22 bags of meat! Each bag contained three packets of quality meat, meaning our families will each receive a wonderful supply of protein with their food parcels.

For many of the families we support, meat is a luxury they simply cannot afford. This donation means nutritious meals, full tummies, and a little less worry for parents who are doing everything they can to care for their children.

Your kindness is making a real difference in the lives of 22 families. Every packet represents hope, dignity, and the reminder that there are people in our community who truly care.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone at Harvia's Wildsvleis Bewerking for choosing to invest in the wellbeing of our families. Your generosity will never be forgotten, and your donation will have an impact far beyond what words can express.
