The local Church is where believers gather, grow, worship and are equipped for their calling. Through The Gideons, Christian business and professional men have opportunities to carry God's Word into schools, hospitals, hotels, correctional facilities and other places where people may not otherwise encounter the Gospel.

Our purpose is shared: to make Jesus Christ known.

We are grateful for every church that prays for us, welcomes our members and supports the distribution of God's Word.

📖 1 Corinthians 3:9 (ESV)
"For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's building."

Why become a Gideon?

Not for recognition.
Not for a title.
Not simply to belong to an organisation.

We serve because people need Jesus Christ.

Our members associate together for service. They pray. They witness personally. They place and distribute God's Word. They work alongside churches. They encourage one another. And through it all, we trust God to take our faithful obedience and use it for His glory.

This is a membership-driven ministry bound together by a single objective: winning others for the Lord Jesus Christ.

📖 Romans 1:16 (ESV)
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes..."

There is work still to be done. There are people still to be reached.
The Gospel is our mission.

A New Testament placed into one person's hands can travel further than we imagine.

Someone reads it.
They come to know Christ.
They begin studying His Word.
They share what they have discovered with someone else.

This is discipleship multiplying through generations of believers.

📖 2 Timothy 2:2 (ESV)
"And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also."

We distribute God's Word because we believe its reach can extend far beyond the first person who receives it.

We often speak about millions of Scriptures distributed—but ministry ultimately happens one person at a time.

One learner.
One prisoner.
One patient.
One police officer.
One student.
One stranger you meet during an ordinary day.

Never underestimate the eternal significance of faithfully sharing Christ with one person.

📖 Luke 15:10 (ESV)
"Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

There is still one more person to reach.

For married Gideons, ministry can also become something beautifully shared.

Spouses of Gideons are encouraged to become Gideons' Wives, serving alongside their husbands for the faith of the Gospel. Gideons' Wives participate through prayer, personal testimony, personal work and Scripture distribution in women's venues.

Two lives. One faith. One desire to see others come to know Jesus Christ.

📖 Philippians 1:27 (ESV)
"Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ... standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel."

The foundation of Gideon membership is not activity.

It is faith.

Gideons believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. They believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. They have personally received Christ as Saviour and endeavour to follow Him in their daily lives.

Before we carry God's Word into the world, we submit our own lives to its truth.

📖 2 Timothy 3:16–17 (ESV)
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."

If these beliefs reflect your own, perhaps it is time to learn more.

Hospitals. Correctional facilities. Holding cells. Crisis situations.

These are places where people may be facing fear, uncertainty, loneliness or regret, and sometimes they are also places where hearts become particularly open to hope.

Gideon members have opportunities to take God's Word into places where someone may desperately need to hear that they have not been forgotten.

📖 Psalm 34:18 (ESV)
"The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit."

There are many places still waiting to be reached.

One of the privileges of Gideon membership is participating in Scripture distributions to young people, including Grade 8 learners and tertiary students.

Imagine placing a New Testament into the hands of a young person who has never owned one.

You may never know which page they will open first, which verse they will remember, or how God may use that Scripture years later.

But you can help put His Word within reach.

📖 Psalm 119:105 (ESV)
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."

God has already equipped you with skills, relationships and experience.

Gideon membership creates opportunities for Christian business and professional men to use those abilities in service of the Gospel—from planning and administration to leadership, witnessing and ministry activities.

The skills God has given you don't have to remain separate from your ministry.

They can become part of it.

📖 Colossians 3:23–24 (ESV)
"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ."

Use what God has placed in your hands for His glory.

You may only speak to someone for five minutes.
The Testament you leave with them can speak for years.

That is one of the extraordinary things about Scripture distribution. God's Word remains when we are no longer present—ready to be opened, read and used by God in His perfect timing.

📖 Hebrews 4:12 (ESV)
"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart."

Help us continue placing the living Word of God into people's hands.
