Vukosi Baloyi Foundation is a non-profit organization operating in South Africa. The organization is established to curb the ills of the society using education and sports all over the country. Focus areas of VBF are, early childhood development, schooling support and youth development. VBF effectively addresses the needs of young people through workshops, mentorship and sporting programmes in urb
an townships and rural areas. Vukosi Baloyi, founder and the chairperson of the Foundation grew up in Limpopo province at a village called Mphambo. He is a graduate with a National diploma and a Bachelor`s degree, cm laude of Journalism obtained at Tshwane University of Technology. In 2014, Vukosi Baloyi was awarded the TUT post- graduate scholarship to study for a Master`s degree with the very same institution. He was appointed by the department of Journalism at Tshwane University of Technology as a Postgraduate Research Assistant. It was through this opportunity that encouraged Mr Baloyi to start the Foundation. He noticed that many applications at the university were submitted by pupils from All Boys and Girls High schools around South Africa, if not it would be from Hoerskools. Applications from rural areas were minimal including those of urban townships high schools. He decided to establish the Foundation in order to bridge the gap of those who are less fortunate with regard to accessing educational information. Vukosi Baloyi is passionate about sports, especially soccer. He is a former amateur leagues footballer and has also played for the primary and high school teams, and at the tertiary level. He then noticed that many talented footballers never realized their dreams of playing at the professional leagues in South Africa. Players based in rural areas are victims of such circumstances because they have no platforms to show case their talents. In villages there are no proper facilities for the development of young footballers. VukosiBaloyi Foundation will ultimately provide resources by reaching out in urban and rural areas to identify young people, needing assistance to reach their dreams.
