Volunteer Relief Opportunity: Child and Youth Care Worker
Make a Difference in the Lives of Children and Young People
We are seeking compassionate, dedicated, and reliable Volunteer Relief Child and Youth Care Workers to support our team in providing a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for children and youth in our care.
This volunteer relief role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about child and youth development and are available to provide support on an as-needed basis, including weekends, evenings, public holidays, or during staff shortages.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide care, supervision, and emotional support to children and youth.
Promote a safe, positive, and nurturing living environment.
Assist with daily routines, educational activities, and recreational programmes.
Encourage positive behaviour and healthy social development.
Support children and youth in developing life skills and independence.
Maintain professional boundaries and uphold confidentiality.
Complete required reports and communicate effectively with the care team.
Minimum Requirements:
Qualification in Child and Youth Care Work (or currently studying towards a relevant qualification, where applicable).
Registration with the relevant professional body (where required).
A genuine passion for working with children and young people.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Willingness to work flexible relief shifts.
A valid police clearance or willingness to obtain one.
First Aid certification will be an added advantage.
