Nicole, a world-traveller and writer for OM International, reminds us that we have much to learn from the kindness and generosity of our Muslim neighbours.

As we complete the month of prayer for our Muslim neighbours, ask God to show us how we can step away from divisiveness of religions and focus instead on the things that we have in common with our Muslim neighbours.

Pray for wisdom and discernment for those who share the love of Jesus with Muslims.

Saudi Arabia welcomes people from across the world to work, live and visit the country. Its large global community contains a number of vibrant Jesus followers who live out their love for Christ daily alongside Muslim colleagues and friends. Many of these Muslims want to know the truth about God and are curious about the joy they see in their Christian friends. However, believers from a Muslim background face the death penalty for leaving Islam. Saudi Arabia is the birthplace and stronghold of Islam. From Mecca, Islam holds influence over billions, and touches many cultures worldwide. As we pray today, ask that God will work miracles in Saudi Arabia.

Bourama shares that many Muslims in Mali are happy to discuss faith in Jesus. “They want to know how they can relate to God really. That's the most interesting thing for many Muslims,” Bourama said. "Because in Islam we don't have this kind of relationship. There is no personal god in Islam; Allah is always far from us.

As we continue to pray for Muslims during Ramadan, pray for opportunities for Jesus followers to share that freedom can only be found in Jesus. Download OM’s free Prayer Reach app today for more information and prayer points. www.om.org/prayer

Mauritania is an Islamic Republic in West Africa. Despite being rich in mineral resources such as iron and ore, it is one of the poorest countries in the world. On a recent visit to the country, OM photographer Till realised that the vast majority of the 5 million people in Mauritania have almost no chance to ever hear the good news of how they can enter the Kingdom through Jesus. But God makes a way where there is no way. “At the end of my time in Mauritania, I met a woman who said: ‘I used to be a Muslim, but through the testimonies of Christians, I became a follower of Jesus’” shared Till.

As we pray for our Muslim neighbours this Ramadan, pray that God will work miraculously in places which in human terms, are almost impossible to reach. Download OM’s free Prayer Reach app for more information and prayer points. www.om.org/prayer

Throughout the countries of the Sahel region in Africa, conflict and crisis have become a regular occurrence and many people flee to other countries with the hope of finding safety and peace. In this war-torn region, people may wonder; why do believers choose to stay when so many others are leaving for safer places? Samuel, a local Jesus follower gives a simple but profound answer: “for us to be in the field and die for a good cause, reaching out to the least reached... I think for me, this is (more) valuable than to go to look for nice life.”

Pray for protection for Jesus followers as they share the good news in these difficult situations. Join us in praying for the Sahel today, for those who seek peace to find it in Jesus. Download OM’s free Prayer Reach app for more information and prayer points. www.om.org/prayer

“France has a large number of migrants with Muslim backgrounds from all over the world. For us that was an opportunity to serve and reach out to these migrants, most of whom had no access to the gospel in their home countries. Here in France, we have the freedom of sharing with them openly.”

Give thanks for opportunities to share the good news with people who may never have had the opportunity to hear and understand.

In the Horn of Africa, a unique ministry partnership brings more than just literacy to a nomadic people group. Libraries, carried on the backs of camels, bring the gospel to a community with open hearts. “The gospel is on the move in the Horn of Africa — carried on the backs of camels.”

Whereas most Somalis are Sunni Muslim, camel herders are mostly traditional, Sufi Muslim. This people group is also one of the most neglected communities in terms of sharing the gospel. This is because camel herders travel throughout the Horn, following the recent rains. Since there is no set pattern to their travels, it is almost impossible to find a specific group of herders a second time. Groups of trained Jesus followers join the herding communities with their own camel herds, sharing the good news as they travel.
