Baie dankie vir jul OMGEE-harte❣️

💛 Omgeekombersies aan Huis Silversig saam met Waterkloof Innerwheel

Ek sê uit my hart uit baie dankie aan elke persoon wat ’n kombersie vir ons gegee het. Elke kombersie het sy eie storie. Iemand het dalk die wol gekoop, iemand het ure lank gesit en hekel of brei, iemand het dalk ’n kombersie wat reeds gemaak was, met ons gedeel.

Elkeen het uiteindelik dieselfde boodskap gedra:
“Iemand gee om.” ❤️

Ek wil graag vir Jeanette spesiaal uitsonder. Sy het alleen 10 van die 30 kombersies gemaak. 🧶❤️

Vanoggend het ek en Marna na Huis Silversig gegaan om van die Omgeekombersies af te lewer wat die afgelope paar maande met soveel liefde gehekel en gebrei is.

Vanoggend kon ons 23 kombersies aan die inwoners van die demensie- en hoësorg-demensie-afdeling gee.

Die dankbaarheid van sommige van die pasiënte was oorweldigend. Dit was een van daardie oomblikke waar jy besef dat al die ure se werk, die klein blokkies, die aanmekaarwerk en selfs die kere wat jy gedink het “gaan ons ooit genoeg hê?” dit alles werd was.

Party van die mense met demensie is baie teruggetrokke en afsydig. Dit is deel van die siekte. Hulle kan nie altyd verstaan wat gebeur of hulle gevoelens wys nie, maar omgee hoef nie altyd met woorde beantwoord te word nie.

’n Sagte kombersie om jou skouers.

Iemand wat jou hand vashou.
’n Glimlag.
’n Bietjie warmte.

Dit is alles klein dinge, maar soms is dit juis die klein dinge wat die meeste beteken. 💛

Ek wens ons kon vir elke persoon by Huis Silversig ’n Omgeekombersie gee. Ongelukkig het ons nie genoeg hande om vir almal vir wie ons graag kombersies sou wou gee, te kan gee nie.

Maar ons hekel aan.
Want ’n Omgeekombersie is nie net ’n kombersie nie.

Dit is ure se liefde, steek vir steek vasgewerk. 🧶❤️

Wanneer iemand dit om hom of haar trek, hoop ek hulle voel iets van daardie liefde en weet:
Iemand het aan my gedink.
Iemand het moeite gedoen.
Iemand gee om.

It is with deep sadness and great concern that we at SAVF National Office 001-446 NPO have been following the devastating news of the killings of several women in and around Kempton Park over the past two months.

Behind every victim is a family, a loved one, a friend and a community left with unimaginable pain. These tragic acts of violence remind us once again of the urgent need to stand together against gender-based violence and violence in all its forms.

As an organisation built on Compassion at the Core, we cannot remain indifferent when lives are lost and families are shattered.
This Friday, we invite every SAVF staff member and volunteer to wear BLACK as a simple but powerful expression of:

🖤 Respect for those whose lives have been taken.
🖤 Support for their families, loved ones and communities.
🖤 Solidarity with all women and children affected by violence.
🖤 A stand against violence and a call for safer communities.

Let our SAVF family stand together — united in compassion, united in respect, and united in saying:
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
