Every child deserves to feel safe, accepted and included. ❤️

This National Stop Bullying Day, we’re reminding everyone that bullying is never harmless. Whether it happens at school, online or in our communities, its impact on children can last far beyond the moment.

We all have a role to play in stopping bullying. Speak up when you see it, listen when a child asks for help and create spaces where kindness and respect come first.

Being prepared starts long before an emergency happens! 🚨

Over the past two days, our Save the Children South Africa team came together for an Emergency Preparedness, Readiness and Response (EPRR) workshop.

Through group discussions, practical exercises and plenty of teamwork, staff from across the organisation worked together to strengthen how we prepare for and respond to humanitarian emergencies. From identifying risks that affect children to understanding our roles, responsibilities and response procedures, the workshop was all about making sure we can act quickly, safely and effectively when it matters most.

And of course, there was plenty of laughter and team spirit along the way! ❤️
Because when an emergency happens, every second counts, and every child matters.

Every early morning, every steep climb and every training kilometre has led to this. 🏔️

in just 5 days, our CEO Gugu Xaba will begin the journey to Everest Base Camp begins. After months of building the strength and endurance needed for long trekking days and altitudes above 5,000 metres, the training is coming to an end, and the moment she has prepared for is here.

This is bigger than a climb. Gugu is taking a clear message to one of the world’s most iconic peaks. That this climate crisis is a child rights crisis. 5 days to . The training is done. The Himalayas await. ❤️

Youth unemployment has climbed from 45.8% at the start of the year to 47.4% by July. That means almost one in two young people aged 15 - 34 are unable to find work.

At Save the Children South Africa, we’re opening doors to opportunity.

Through our Skills to Succeed program funded by Accenture, 35 young people in Boschfontein, Mpumalanga, are taking part in Generating Your Business Idea (GYB) training, facilitated by our partner Hand in Hand Southern Africa.

They are leaning to identify opportunities, develop business ideas, and take real steps towards building sustainable livelihoods.

This is what the journey to Everest Base Camp looks like. 🏔️

On 17 October, our CEO Gugu Xaba will begin this incredible trek for , making her way through the Himalayas towards Everest Base Camp at 5,365m.

It’s a big challenge, with an even bigger reason behind it. Gugu is climbing to bring attention to the impact the climate crisis has on children and to raise funds to respond to climate-related emergencies.

In just 12 days, the route on this map becomes very real.

Our 6th Annual Charity Golf Day in partnership with Remmoho Golf Club has officially come to a end, and what an incredible day it has was!

From the first tee-off to the final putt, Kyalami Country Club was filled with great energy, friendly competition and plenty of memorable moments. Most importantly, every player, partner and sponsor helped us raise vital support for our climate work for children and communities.

The 6th Annual Save the Children South Africa Charity Golf Day in partnership with Remmoho Golf Club is officially here, and we’re ready to enjoy an unforgettable day at Kyalami Country Club.

Today is about excellent golf, great company and an even greater purpose. Every swing, every team and every contribution helps us continue our work for children, including strengthening responses to the growing impact of the climate crisis on children and their communities.

Together, we’re driving change far beyond the 18th hole.
