Good day friends!
I am Evangelist Siza Bab from HOPE FOR PEOPLE CENTRE in the Southern Africa. I am glad to introduce to you the awesome humanitarian works that we do in Southern and Central Africa. Thank you for your time and attention given to read what we live for in Africa.
We are running a Non-Profit organization called HOPE FOR PEOPLE CENTRE in Africa that passionately focuses on 6 main programs, but here are the 3 of the 6 programs just to make this presentation shorter (full details in the Non-profit Newsletter at your request) and the purpose of spreading this news is to request and invite philanthropists, organisations, partners, funders, supporters, mentors, and other individuals of good hearts and will to join us in this great cause we are undertaking in Africa. Please we will be grateful if you consider partnering with us in any way in this endeavor. Here are the 3 programs at glance :
1. Disadvantaged Back-To-School Children Program (Mark 10:13-1) does feeding scheme and provides back-to-school
basic items every year to the disadvantaged children in communities we serve (School uniforms, stationery and school
shoes).
How do we carry out this program?
Through community assessments we identify children living in disadvantaged homes and meet their parents to ask for a
permission to allow their children join our back-to-school and feeding scheme or food
hampers hand-out programs. We provide full uniforms, school shoes and stationery every
year to these kids. We discovered this need because many parents, especially from jobless
or low-earning families, find themselves without enough funds to pay for all the financial
demands of all their children when back-to-school dates arrive. One day we found some
school kids from single-parenting homes who were in school for a month since the schools
opened without complete stationeries and they attended classes even with old torn shoes
and school bags. We felt so emotional and decided that we must do something about it.
Since then this program continues and parents to these kids are thankful for the impact we
are making in their children lives.
Internationally, we travel to Congo (DRC), to our Hope for People Centre International
Centre to provide for similar needs among disadvantaged school children. We conduct area assessments to identify those
children in critical need of our help. We conduct an in-house annual training to our volunteers and other workers who
handle feeding scheme/food hampers and back-to-school items distribution programs. This is the same program we are
running in South Africa. Our ultimate goal is to make a difference in children's life in South Africa and beyond (Mark
10:13-16). We believe that true and genuine love and care must be proven by practical action that demonstrates it. Many
kids and parents are very appreciative to us for starting this work. We are making an impact in humanity. These results
give us a sense of meaning and fulfillment in life.
2. Homework Assistance for Disadvantaged school children Program
Homework assistance is another co-joint program we have along the Back-To-School program. We have done field research in real life and discovered that many disadvantaged school children live with parents with low educational
background/skills therefore many of these parents can't help/assist their children with homework at home. These lowearning or jobless parents are mostly absent from home when children return from schools and nobody is available to assist these school children with their homework. The challenge is private professional Tutors are expensive and these parents can’t afford paying for their service fees. The result of this challenge is critical low marks in school works and many of these school children don't get promoted to the higher grades and have to repeat classes/grades in some years. Some of these children end up dropping out of school due to academic pressure with marks. Most of their parents return home late at
night very tired from making ends meet out there to provide for their families. Most of days in the week they find their children asleep by the time they reach home in the evening. More to this challenge, most of these school children live with single mothers who struggle hardly just to provide for their immediate families. Our research on the field shows that most of these single women are stressed out and depressed by the pressure to meet even the most basic needs of their children demands.
These challenges caught our attention and touched our hearts. We took action and came up with this program to meet this need. As Christians we believe that God's love must be demonstrated in the most practical ways in the community
(Galatians 6:10). Just as Apostle John also puts it in 1 John 4:20, "If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?"(KJV).
3. Women Empowerment Program - We identify and empower women, especially single parents from these disadvantaged communities with basic skills program that can help them provide for their children. Most of women in this category have been abandoned by husbands or boyfriends who left them provide for their children alone. Most of women in this category have been abandoned by husbands or boyfriends who left them with huge responsibilities of caring for their children alone. Their men leave them for numerous reasons, including for other women or other various relationshiprelated problems. We also discovered that many of their men were doing low-pay jobs and the pressure of inability to
provide for their families pushed them to run away and abandon their families. This program is based on (Genesis 16:13-15) when God provided for Hagar and her son Ishmael in the desert. We care deeply for these women with their kids.
Some of these single women and their children are foreigners in South Africa and the demand of life is hard and expensive to bear.
