1. JOB REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate must meet the following qualifications and attributes:
โข Grade 12 (NQF Level 4).
โข Current registration as an Auxiliary Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
โข A minimum of one (1) year's experience in elderly care, frail care, disability care or a similar healthcare environment will be advantageous.
โข Proficient in both Afrikaans and English.
โข A caring, compassionate, and resident-centred approach.
โข Good interpersonal and communication skills.
โข The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and follow instructions accurately.
โข A positive attitude, emotional maturity, and a respectful, patient, and trustworthy nature.
โข Physically capable of performing the duties associated with resident care.
โข Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development.
2. RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will perform the following:
โข Provide quality basic nursing care to residents under the supervision of an Enrolled Nurse and/or Professional Nurse.
โข Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, hydration, toileting, and mobility.
โข Maintain residents' comfort, dignity, safety, and well-being at all times.
โข Observe residents' physical and emotional condition and promptly report any changes to the supervising nurse.
โข Assist in preventing pressure sores, falls, and other complications through appropriate care and positioning.
โข Assist with infection prevention and maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment.
โข Support residents with nutrition and hydration and report poor appetite or fluid intake.
โข Assist nursing staff with basic clinical duties within the prescribed scope of practice.
โข Provide compassionate support to residents receiving end-of-life care.
โข Maintain accurate records of assigned care activities and comply with all organisational policies, procedures, and professional standards.
โข Should be able to work day or night shift.
