Celebrating Women in Innovation, Leadership & Entrepreneurship!

RMCERI was proud to participate in the Women in Innovation and Leadership Dialogue (WILD) 2026, hosted by TUT’s Directorate of Research and Innovation in partnership with the City of Tshwane.

We were delighted to be joined by one of our incubated SMMEs, Lesedi Health Group, who had the opportunity to showcase their products, connect with women leaders and innovators, and engage with key stakeholders.

Events like WILD create valuable platforms for visibility, collaboration and meaningful connections, while providing women-led businesses with opportunities to showcase their solutions and grow their networks.

At RMCERI, we remain committed to empowering entrepreneurs, strengthening partnerships and creating opportunities for sustainable business growth.

Empowering Students Through Industry Engagement!

Today, RMCERI was proud to be part of the Industry Expert, Student Engagement Workshop, hosted by the Department of Industrial Engineering at Ditsela Place, Hatfield.

The workshop brought together students and industry leaders for an inspiring day of knowledge-sharing, career insights and conversations around the future of work, entrepreneurship and industry.

Representing RMCERI, Ms Mbali Blaai, RMCERI Incubator Centre Manager, delivered an inspiring session on “Own the Future: Why Entrepreneurship is the Smartest Career Move You Can Make.” Her message highlighted the power of entrepreneurship in creating opportunities, driving innovation and shaping a more inclusive and sustainable future.

The programme also featured valuable insights from industry experts, including Mrs Gavaza Mongwe – Miss South Africa 2026, Mr Bongani Khoza – Managing Director of BFG Africa, Mr Arnold Sithole – Chairman of the TUT Industrial Engineering Board, and Mr Tshegofatso Kekana – Plant Manager at Wier Minerals.

For RMCERI, engagements like these are an important part of connecting education, entrepreneurship and industry, empowering young people to move beyond simply preparing for the future and encouraging them to create it.

Bringing Entrepreneurship to Life Through Engineering!

Over the past two weeks, RMCERI has been engaging with 3rd-year Engineering students through their Entrepreneurship Module, creating opportunities for students to experience entrepreneurship beyond the classroom.

Through Virtual Reality (VR) activities and Plan A, students explored innovative thinking, problem-solving, collaboration and the entrepreneurial mindset needed to turn ideas into opportunities.

The Studentpreneurship Programme continues to empower TUT students to think beyond becoming job seekers, encouraging them to become innovators, entrepreneurs and future job creators.
