Today, we pause to reflect on the long and courageous journey that led us to the freedom we experience today. Freedom Day is not just a date on the calendar it is a powerful reminder of the resilience, bravery, and unwavering spirit of those who came before us.
We honour the sacrifices made, the voices that refused to be silenced, and the generations who stood firm in the pursuit of justice, dignity, and equality. Because of them, we are able to live, learn, create, and dream in a democratic South Africa.
As we celebrate, may we also carry forward the responsibility to protect and grow this freedom, ensuring it is meaningful and accessible for all.
Remembering the sacrifices that brought us to this day.
