Internal Audit is more than just a profession; it is a pillar of organizational integrity and foresight. This May, as we celebrate International Internal Audit Awareness Month, the IIA Pretoria Region is proud to champion the value we bring to the table.
In collaboration with the Tshwane University of Technology’s Department of Auditing, we are hosting an Internal Audit Day designed to bridge the gap between aspiring talent and industry leaders.
Whether you are looking to network with top recruiters, engage with professional bodies, or simply deepen your understanding of the evolving risk landscape, this is the event for you!

On 12 May 2026, in celebration of International Internal Audit Awareness Month, the IIASA Pretoria Region will be visiting the TUT Ga-Rankuwa Campus for a Public Interest Day.

We look forward to engaging with students on future career opportunities in internal audit and GRC, while also highlighting the importance of mental wellness in their academic and professional journeys.

24 April 2025: The IIASA Pretoria Region proudly participated in the UNISA Career Day, where we had the privilege of representing the Internal Audit profession and engaging with aspiring professionals.

It was an insightful and impactful session where we shared knowledge on the role of Internal Audit, Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC), siyakhula programme, mentorship programme, as well as the diverse career pathways available beyond the traditional routes. The engagement with students was encouraging, with many showing great interest in understanding how they can position themselves for a future in this dynamic profession.

We are committed to empowering the next generation with the right information and guidance to make informed career choices. A big thank you to UNISA for the opportunity to connect with their students and contribute to shaping future leaders in the profession.

🧑🏽‍🎓👩🏽‍🏫 👩‍⚖️👩🏻‍🚒CAREER DAY VISIT 👨🏽‍💻🧑🏽‍🏭👩🏽‍🚀👨🏻‍🚀

Today, 10 April 2026, the had the privilege of visiting Pretoria Central High School for an engaging Career Day session with Grade 10 and 11 learners.

Our team Ifrah Rage, Azikiwe Ncukana and Tshepo Shabangu introduced the learners to the dynamic and evolving world of Internal Auditing, shedding light on the broad opportunities within the GRC. We unpacked the journey from high school to university, highlighting diverse career pathways — including options beyond the traditional BCom route.

It was inspiring to see the shift in perspective among learners. While many initially leaned toward accounting due to limited exposure, the session opened their eyes to Internal Auditing as an exciting and impactful career choice. The level of curiosity, engagement, and enthusiasm demonstrated just how important awareness initiatives like these are.

We are encouraged by the positive response and proud to contribute to shaping future professionals by expanding their understanding of career possibilities within the internal audit profession.

We extend our appreciation to the staff and learners of Pretoria Central High School. 🏫
