In every generation, the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ has always faced constant attack from every side, -culture, false teachers, and other religions. To maintain its purity, we must understand that the owner of the gospel is God himself. Our loyalty is not to our modern culture, or to our self-interests. It is to Him who owns the gospel, He who sent us. Inevitably, any true proclamation of the

gospel will attract opposition, -subtle and open. But we are warned never to preach another gospel, or as John Wesley reminded his generation, not to proclaim the gospel of the last age or the gospel of this age, but the everlasting gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. We can only do so, if we understand what the everlasting gospel is, and what it is not. Such understanding has never been more urgent.
