Groenkloof Feral Project is a volunteer-based, community-supported non-profit working to create a safer future for cats in and around Groenkloof, Pretoria. We focus on:

🏘 TNR (Trap–Neuter–Return) to reduce the feral cat population humanely

🐾 Rescuing & taming feral-born kittens, giving them a chance at loving homes

❤️ Educating & partnering with the community to end the cycle of suffering

🐾 TNR & RESCUE UPDATE | 20–21 AUGUST 2026 🐾

Following the request we received on 5 August 2026 for help with a group of feral cats living at a guest house/student accommodation in Brooklyn, we returned on Thursday, 20 August** to try and trap the last remaining feral.

And this beautiful girl was the one we were waiting for. 🥹🐾

We believe she may be the mother of the two kittens who are now safely in foster care. With her finally trapped, we can make sure she receives the veterinary care she needs and that the kittens have the best possible chance at a safe future.

But every rescue comes with a cost, and we simply cannot do this without the kindness and support of our community.** ❤️

Capri has officially found his forever home! 🏡💚

And we absolutely love hearing that he is settling in so beautifully! His family says:

After months of care, love, patience and plenty of growing, Capri has finally begun his next chapter — and what makes this adoption extra special is that he didn’t go home alone. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to the **Bothma family** for opening your hearts and home to Capri, another one of our GFP older kittens. Thank you for not only giving Capri the loving forever home he deserves, but also for welcoming **Rosemaryn as his sibling**. 🥹🐾

By choosing to adopt two rescue kittens, you have changed two lives forever while also creating space for us to help even more cats and kittens in need. That ripple effect is what rescue is all about. ❤️

We would also like to give a very special thank you to our incredible foster families — Zenobia & Carlo, Gemma, Janine and Chantelle. It truly took a wonderful group of people to get this special boy to his happily-ever-after.

HAPPY ADOPTION DAY, ALICE!✨

A huge heartfelt thank you to the Klopper family for opening their hearts and home to sweet Alice (previously English Breakfast). We are absolutely thrilled that this precious girl has found her forever family! 🥹

We can’t wait to see Alice grow, flourish and settle into her new life surrounded by love. We know she has many happy adventures ahead! ✨

A very special thank you to Julia, Gemma, Laura and family for welcoming Alice into your home as her foster family. Your love, patience and dedication gave this little girl the safe and nurturing space she needed to grow in confidence and prepare for her forever home. ❤️

Some stories have the most beautiful endings… and Roosmaryn’s is one of them. 🥹

A huge thank you to the Bothma family for welcoming this special little girl into their home and making the wonderful decision to adopt. Roosmaryn, formerly known as Rosemary, is officially a pampered princess with a family of her very own! 💕

Thank you for choosing to give a rescue kitten a second chance and for showing her that life can be filled with love, safety and happiness. Every adoption means so much to us — because when one kitten finds a forever home, it opens a place for another vulnerable animal waiting for help. ❤️

And to Marc, Sam and Charlie — thank you for being Rodemary's safe place while she waited for her forever family. Your patience, love and dedication gave her the foundation she needed to grow into the happy, confident little girl she is today. 🐾

TNR & RESCUE UPDATE l 20-21 Aug 2026

On 5 August 2026, we received a request for help with a group of feral cats living at a guest house/student accommodation in Brooklyn.

The goal was simple — to make sure the cats were sterilised, and where possible, to get the kittens into foster care and ultimately find them loving homes. ❤️

After several attempts to find a suitable time, arrangements were finally made and traps were set this week.

And we caught these three beautiful souls. 🐾

The black kitty is able to remain where he is, and we are incredibly grateful that he has a safe place to stay. 🙏🏼 His sterilisation will help prevent more unwanted litters and give him a better chance at a healthier future.

The kittens have now come into our care. They are safe, but their journey is only beginning.

Every rescue comes with a cost, and we simply cannot do this without the kindness of our supporters.

Sweet and dainty, Coffee moves around with the cutest little tiptoes and a natural elegance that makes her utterly irresistible. 🥹

HAPPY WOMEN’S DAY

Today, we celebrate the incredible women who stand up — not only for themselves, but for those who have no voice. 🐾❤️

Behind the Groenkloof Feral Project are women who give so much of themselves to make a difference for animals in need.

Women who sacrifice family time, weekends, sleep, comfort, personal resources and sometimes even the safety of their own homes to answer a call for help.

Women who crawl under cars, walk dark streets, set traps late at night, rescue frightened kittens, bottle-feed babies, sit beside sick animals, rush to the vet, open their homes to fosters and carry the emotional weight of every animal they cannot save.

They do it because they care.

Because they believe that every life matters.

Because being a woman means having the courage to speak up, to stand firm, to challenge what is wrong and to create change — even when that change is difficult.

Today, we stand proudly beside every strong, resilient, compassionate and courageous woman who fights for animal rights and welfare. 🌷

To the women who rescue.
To the women who foster.
To the women who trap.
To the women who feed.
To the women who educate.
To the women who advocate.
To the women who donate.

We are so grateful for your continued kindness and for always reaching out to see how you can support the work we do. Your generous donation of adult cat food means so much to to the Groenkloof Feral Project and to every rescued kitty whose little life depends on the care we provide. 🐱❤️

Food may seem like a simple gift, but for us it represents so much more — full bowls, healthy bodies, comfort, security and the knowledge that these precious animals are cared for. 🥹
