MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT!

Just before 11:00 the Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit received a call for a motor vehicle accident on Garsfontein Road in the Menlyn area of Pretoria East. On arrival we found 1 patient with a large cut on their head. The patient was treated on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital by a private ambulance service.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT!

Just before 15:00 the Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit received a call for a serious motor vehicle accident on the N4 highway just after the Simon Vermooten offramp in the Equestria area of Pretoria East. On arrival we found one vehicle that left the road down an embankment after colliding with a bakkie at high speed. One patient sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on arrival. 2 other patients were assessed on scene and found to have sustained minor injuries. They received treatment on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

The scene was handed over to SAPS to investigate the cause of the accident.

Medical Collapse.

A elderly patient collapsed at a restaurant in the Garsfontein area of Pretoria east. The patient was slightly dehydrated and received treatment on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital by Emergency Medical Solutions.

MOTORBIKE ACCIDENT!

Just before 10:00 the Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit received a call from the Lakes Security Forum NPC for a motorcycle accident on Cape Greysbok Street in the Silverlakes area of Pretoria East. On arrival we found 1 patient who lost control and went through a barbed wire fence. The patient sustained moderate injuries including lacerations to his neck and was stabilized on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital under Advanced Life Support care.

PEDESTRIAN VEHICLE ACCIDENT!

Just before 16:00 the Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit received a call for a serious pedestrian accident on Solomon Mahlangu Drive in the Morelettapark area of Pretoria East. On arrival we found one patient who had sustained critical injuries. The patient was stabilized on scene and received Advanced Life Support care before being placed on a ventilator prior to transport to a nearby hospital for definitive treatment by a private ambulance service. The driver of the vehicle was assessed on scene and did not sustain any injuries.

Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit, Emer-G-Med, Advanced Paramedics Assist, Gauteng Emergency Medical Services mobile to assist members from Proshield security busy administering CPR on a patient. Unfortunately the patient is declared as deceased on arrival. Scene happened over to SAPS for investigation.

STRUCTURE FIRE!

Just after 08:00 the Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit received a call from Garsfontein SAPS members for a structure fire in the Garsfontein area of Pretoria East. On arrival we found that a fire which originated in the garage had started spreading to the main residential structure. Our team assisted City of Tshwane Firefighters before being joined by Fidelity SecureFire and Fire Ops Firefighters. Together we managed to stop the fire from spreading into the house and extinguish it. 2 patients were treated on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital by a private ambulance.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and will be subject to an investigation by the City of Tshwane Emergency Services.
