On 10 October 2026, Angel’s Nest Southern Africa (ANSA) hosted a School Sports Tournament in Zwide, Gqeberha, bringing young athletes together for a day of sport, teamwork and community spirit.

Organised by Padare National Coordinator Oscar Masiza, the tournament featured Under-13 soccer and netball, giving young people an opportunity to showcase their talent, build confidence and develop important life skills through sport.

A big thank you to aQuellé for sponsoring refreshments for the young athletes. We appreciate your support in making the day a success.

We also thank Oscar Masiza, the participating teams and everyone who contributed to making this event possible. Through initiatives like these, we continue to create positive opportunities for young people in our communities.

Not every struggle is visible. Sometimes, the people who seem fine are dealing with things they don't know how to talk about.

Let's make it easier for people to speak up, ask for help and be heard without fear of being judged. A little understanding can go a long way.

No woman should have to live in fear of being abused, threatened or hurt. Violence against women is not a private matter to ignore. We all have a role to play in speaking out, supporting survivors and refusing to normalise abuse.

On International Day of Non-Violence, we are reminded that lasting change does not have to come through violence.

Peace begins with how we treat one another, how we resolve our differences, and how we stand up for justice without causing harm.

A problem is not the end. It is an invitation to think differently.

Life will always present challenges, but our mindset determines how we respond to them.

Instead of asking, “Why is this happening to me?” ask, “What can I do about it?”

Look for solutions. Learn from setbacks. Ask for help when you need it. Try a different approach when the first one doesn’t work.

Sometimes, the breakthrough begins with simply changing the way we look at the problem.

Change doesn’t always begin with something big.

Sometimes, it starts with a kind word. A helping hand. Taking the time to listen. Making someone feel seen, valued and included. Creating a safe space for a child. Supporting a young person to believe in their potential.

Every small act of care and every effort to uplift others can contribute to something much bigger: a healthier, safer and more inclusive community.

You may not change the whole world in one day, but you can make a difference in someone’s world today.

Because when we do small things with great love, compassion and purpose, the impact can be greater than we ever imagine.

Our Director Sabina Taderera and Fellow at Tekano - Health Equity in South Africa is part of the global public health community meeting in Cape Town for the 18th World Congress on Public Health from 6–9 September 2026.

More than 2,000 delegates have come together for four days of science, exchange, debate, and collaboration under the theme Health Without Borders: Equity, Inclusion, and Sustainability.

Through her attendance, we aim to identify regional commonalities, highlight context-specific innovations, and map opportunities for continued collaborative learning, especially for our marginalised communities.
