Campus Eco Brick Tutorial✅

Helping every student reduce their footprint 1 coke bottle at a time♻️
Every Eco Brick made and recycled can keep up to 2kg's of single-use plastics out of rubbish dumps🚚
What are single-use plastics in terms of student-life?🤔
Think of every single two minute noodle wrapper, every piece of packaging that gets thrown away after having a sweet treat or packet of Lays at the SS, and basically any piece of plastic that you see and throw away in less than 20 minutes.🍜 🌯 🍬

If you want to build your own ecobricks, follow the steps in the 4th photo of the post, and DM us when you wish for them to be taken to a recycling plant. Alternatively, you could also take your ecobricks to the Potch Recycling Plant personally🥰✨♻️🗑️✅

The Comfy Cozy Green Team Movie Night🎥 🍿 🎞️ ✨

After a few not-so-small technical difficulties, the team managed to host a wonderful movie night. The room was filled with excitement, laughter and the amazing smell of freshly popped popcorn.
The Hoppers movie brought many back to their childhood and reminded us of the importance of lookong after our environment. The animals are doing their part, so we should to! 🦫🌲🦈

The movie night not only offers a small escape from a busy semester for students on a cold winter's night, but also serves as a fundraising event for Green Team's future projects, such as upcoming tree plantings. All donations from the event are greatly appreciated. The Green Team wouldn't be here if it wasn't for your support💚 🌳

A Beautiful Winter Morning Clean up❄️ 🚮 🌄

The team set out in the early hours of the morning before class to clean up our beloved Vlei area in the Fanie Du Toit Sports grounds.🏉

It is our responsibility as students to be mindful of the stunning grounds and environment made available to us, and respect it by cleaning up and leaving it as pristine as possible.🍂 🌳 💚

Open Day 2026🍂🌤️ 🍀

On the chilly autumn morning of 9 May 2026, the NWU hosted its annaul open day to show prospective matrics that "It All Starts Here" 💜 🦅

Our little stall in the corner of Wasgoedpennetjie Lane saw plenty of foot traffic. Students, old and new, were told about our mission, our projects, and our fun little adventures by the enthusiastic executives of 2026. We hope to spot the matriculants we spoke to on campus in the coming years, sporting their hand made "hout" couture Green Team wooden bead bracelets. 🪵

Happy Earth Day 2026! 🌎 🤍

Tell us your favorite thing about the Earth in the comments secrion! 🕊️

Today the students of Potch paid tribute to the best planet in the entire solar system. They created a piece of art that represents how every person has an effect on this earth, no matter how big or small 👍 ✨
With their green thumbs and fingers, they also planted a small tree in the library grass gardens, once again giving back to the Earth for all it gives us 🍃 🌊 🌅
This tree will hopefully one day provide not only shade for much needed study-breaks during the summer months, but also a constant reminder that when working together, creating change becomes that much easier...

Remember to "Live every day like it's Earth Day!" - The Stompers😎🌎💚
