🚨 SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOLLOWING SWIFT CCTV AND REACTION RESPONSE 🚨

At approximately 06:22 this morning, CCTV operators monitoring the Cachet Park CID area observed two suspicious males carrying a gas bottle in Rissik Street.

Reaction officers were immediately dispatched and made contact with the suspects.

Upon investigation, the suspects were found in possession of a gas bottle, copper pipes, and a pair of sneakers believed to have been stolen.

Further enquiries confirmed that the stolen property originated from a premises at Rissik Street.

SAPS responded to the scene and both suspects were arrested. The property owner will be opening a criminal case.

A big thank you to the Cachet Park CID NPC Potchefstroom CCTV operators, reaction officers, and all role players involved for their quick response and teamwork in ensuring that the suspects were apprehended and the stolen property recovered.

🚨 INCIDENT REPORT – ILLEGAL TRESPASSING 🚨

Cachet Park CID officers responded after a student reportedly discovered an unknown male inside the kitchen area of a residential property in Rissik Street.

Upon arrival, officers attended to the scene and the suspect was detained for further investigation. The incident was handed over after the contracted security company and property management representatives arrived on scene, together with SAPS who took control of the matter.

Please note that the property involved is not a Cachet Park CID member property.

Following the handover, CID officers resumed their normal public safety duties within the precinct.

No CCTV footage is available at this stage.

Apparently this was the third time thos particular suspect was found tresspassing at this same property.

This suspect was found to be in possesion of a knife, gloves and an extra full set of clothing should need be to disguise or change his appearance.

Incident Report – Steve Biko / Esselen Intersection

At approximately 00:21 on 16 May 2026, a pickpocketing incident occurred near the intersection of Steve Biko and Esselen Streets.

Our Mooirivier Beskerming CID reaction Unit and CID Security Patrollers were dispatched to the scene and subsequently confirmed that two male suspects had allegedly pickpocketed a female victim’s cellphone inside a cafe.

The suspects reportedly handed the stolen cellphone to another individual before the arrival of CID Public Safety members.

Members of SAPS responded to the incident and assumed control of the scene and investigation.

Further developments followed when SAPS located the vehicle allegedly linked to the suspects.

During the operation, five stolen cellphones were recovered.

Cachet Park CID NPC Potchefstroom Mooirivier Beskerming CCTV operators observed a suspect involved in pickpocketing activities in Steve Biko street earlier this week.

It was clear that the suspect was targetting unsuspecting club revelers leaving the clubs.

Our Reaction Unit was tasked to respond to the scene, with our the patrol officers providing support.

The suspect was apprehended and three cellular phones were recovered.

SAPS members were also on scene and effected an arrest.

Two victims opened cases of theft.

It was further noted that the suspect changed clothing after stealing the first victim’s phone in an apparent attempt to avoid identification.
