The Health Professionals of South Africa is concerned with the declining quality of public health in the North West.
There has a number of complaints from different parts of the North West Province with regards to the unavailability of ambulances and emergency services, there has been complaints regarding community members dying while waiting for ambulances.
There is a serious decline with regards to access to health care as a fundamental and a universal human right especially on the rural areas.
The long waiting hours in the clinics which in one of the areas ,an old man died while waiting for assistance in one of the clinics in Klerksdorp.
The people of Lekwatemane in Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati region have raised a number of complaints regarding hospital services as their hospital (Christiana hospital) burnt five years ago till today the community does not have a hospital.
Poor service delivery as a result of staff shortage and austerity measures imposed since 2023 October.
The organization would like to urge the Minister of Health to pay attention to the issues of the Department of Health in North West before things get even worse.
