Forty operations. Hundreds of lives changed.

A week of specialist eye surgery in northern Ghana has restored sight and renewed hope for children and adults who had waited years for treatment.

What makes this story remarkable is not only the skill of the volunteer surgeons, but the collaboration between Rotary clubs across several countries, working together to build local capacity while changing lives one patient at a time.

This is Rotary at its best.

We had the absolute privilege of hearing all about Olfen, Germany from our current exchange student, Thea. She is truly a fantastic ambassador for her home town!

It was great to get a glimpse into her world—learning about her favorite hobbies and activities back home, as well as hearing her perspective on how she has been experiencing life here in South Africa.

A special shout-out to her exchange "sister," Thando, who accompanied her for the evening. We know Thando is already counting down the days until she gets to visit Thea in Germany at the end of the year!
