ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND

National Crime Prevention Strategy has mandated the Department of Social Development to establish a men`s Forum to implement strategy to prevent gender based violence. On 5thMarch 2011 men were identified to engage in the strategy and they become interested to start the forum, Tlokwe Men`s Forum. They engaged in Men`s Lekgotla activities, which are as follows; Fatherhood and Manhood discussion, identity Crisis and Boys Club. The forum established an organization called Banna Ba Kae. Its main purpose is to engage men and boys in the prevention of Gender Based Violence. They aimed at rendering intensive awareness and outreach programmes. Banna Ba Kae intends to reach the community of Potchefstroom, Ikageng and surrounding farms through programs with the Strategy on Prevention of Gender Based Violence. This is to enhance family and community values as described by the Charter on Positive Values.
