Last night, we had the honour of sharing Eli’s story at the SANBS Awards, and the response was deeply moving. It reminded us that his journey has the power to inspire far beyond what we ever imagined.
Eli is very much alive — a little fighter who has already overcome so much. His strength, his progress, and his presence are why we’ve created Eli’s Legacy. This isn’t something to look back on. It’s a movement we want to carry forward… a movement that reminds us, every day, of how far he’s come and how much hope can rise from the hardest moments.
One of the ways I’ve been trying to honour this journey is through writing children’s stories. I’m not an expert, but each story is written with sincerity and with the intention of spreading comfort and hope. They’re short, simple, and created for the moments when a parent — especially a NICU parent — needs just a little reminder that they’re not alone.
After seeing how Eli’s story touched people last night, we’ve realised it’s time to share more publicly. We want to reach families who are walking through the uncertainty and heartbreak of the NICU, feeling helpless while their little one fights so bravely. We want this movement to uplift, support, and help carry others through.
If you know a NICU parent, a friend going through a difficult time, or someone who could use a message of hope, please feel free to share this with them.
Eli’s Legacy is growing — a living, breathing reminder of resilience, love, and the power of hope. Thank you for helping us carry it forward. 🤍
