❤️ 𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗗 𝗣𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 ❤️

There is a difference between simply hearing the Word of God and learning how to live it.

This Wednesday, Robert shared the Word with our community in a way that was simple, practical and easy to understand.

Using everyday examples, he helped connect Scripture to the situations people face in ordinary life.

And that is something we are becoming more intentional about during our Wednesday mornings.

We don't only want to provide a meal.

We want to worship together.

We want to pray together.

We want to open the Word together.

And we want people to leave understanding that 𝗚𝗼𝗱'𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿 — 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲.

Over the past few months, it has been beautiful watching these mornings grow from simply receiving food into a place of relationship, prayer, participation and spiritual growth.

People are praying for one another.

People are asking questions.

People are encouraging each other.

And little by little, we are seeing people begin to put into practice what they are learning.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿. ❤️

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗘𝗢𝗣𝗟𝗘 𝗕𝗘𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗗𝗔𝗬. ❤️⛳

There are some thank-yous that deserve more than a quick mention in a post.

And this is one of them.

Our Old Mutual Invitational may have happened in a single day, but what people saw on the golf course was the result of 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀.

And I especially want to honour Cayla.

Some people saw a golf day. Cayla saw the hundreds of things that had to happen before there could be a golf day.

Cayla, you carried an enormous part of this golf day.

The phone calls.
The WhatsApps.
The emails.
The team lists.
The sponsors.
The forms.
The prizes.
The changes.
The reminders.
The hundred little details nobody else ever sees.

And then on the day itself, while everyone else was enjoying what had been created, you were still making sure things happened where and when they were supposed to.

There were plenty of moments when plans changed, things needed sorting out, or another message came through — and you simply kept going.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝗖𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗮.

Not only for what you did, but for the heart with which you did it.

I know how much of yourself you poured into making this day work, and I don't ever want that to go unnoticed.

And then to 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 — thank you for being beside me through all of it. ❤️

For supporting the vision, stepping in wherever you were needed, carrying things behind the scenes, encouraging me when the pressure was high and, as always, giving so much of yourself to Heart of the Father.

And to our 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 — thank you.

For arriving early.
For setting up.
For registration.
For carrying banners and prizes.
For standing at holes.
For welcoming people.

For solving problems.
For serving with smiles.
And for doing whatever needed to be done.

So much of what Heart of the Father does is possible because there are people who don't ask, “What's my job?”

They simply ask:

That is what I saw from this team.

I may be the person who often gets to stand in front and speak about what we are building, but I know very well that 𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗯𝘆 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻.

It takes a family.

Cayla, Marique and every person who gave their time and energy to our golf day — 𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂.

You helped turn an idea into a day we will never forget.

OUR ANNUAL GOLF DAY WAS BUILT BY COMMUNITY. ❤️

There are simply too many people and businesses who contributed to our 2026 Heart of the Father Foundation Golf Day for us to properly thank everyone in a single photograph.

From our sponsors, hole sponsors and four-ball teams, to the businesses and individuals who donated prizes, vouchers, auction items, experiences, products and services - every contribution mattered.
Some gave financially.
Some gave products.
Some gave experiences.
Some gave their time.
And some simply asked, “How can we help?”

As we continue reflecting on our 2026 Golf Day, there are certain people whose generosity deserves to be honoured in a very special way.

Today, we want to say an enormous thank you to Mr Ndima and Glacis Safaris in Cathcart.

Mr Ndima generously donated an incredible hunting experience to Heart of the Father Foundation for our auction - a gift that became one of the highlights of the evening and generated meaningful support for the work we do.

But for us, this was about so much more than an auction item.

When someone chooses to give something of real value to support our work, they are choosing to stand alongside the children and families we serve. They are helping us continue showing up, building relationships and, most importantly, keeping coming back.

What a way to end an incredible 𝗢𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹.

Old Mutual entered two teams into Friday’s golf day — and one of those teams went all the way, taking the championship and walking away with the 𝗥𝟮𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲, 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗢𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲. 🏆

A massive congratulations to our champions — and to every golfer who walked away with a prize on the day.

There were prizes, laughter, competition and plenty of gees throughout the evening, but for us the biggest win is what a day like this makes possible.

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗔 𝗗𝗔𝗬. 💗⛳

Yesterday we hosted the 𝗢𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 in support of 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, and we are still taking in just how special the day was.
From the first golfers arriving, to the laughter on the course, the generosity in the room, the auction, the prizes and all the people working behind the scenes — it was a day filled with incredible support.

But for us, it was about so much more than golf.

It was about people coming together because they believe that 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 and that vulnerable children and young people deserve people who will continue to show up.

And just like that, our 2026 matric farewell journey has come to an end. ❤️

Over the past few months we have had the privilege of walking alongside young people as they prepared for one of the biggest milestones of their school journey - their matric farewell.

There were beautiful dresses and suits.

Hair, makeup and nails.

Shoes, clutch bags and special cars.

Photographs, nervous excitement, laughter and plenty of unforgettable moments.

But looking back, we are reminded again:

𝗜𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗹.

It was about a young person looking in the mirror and knowing:

𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗻. 𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗱. 𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. ❤️

And none of these moments happened because of Heart of the Father alone.

They happened because people chose to come alongside us.

As we close this chapter for 2026, we are already looking forward to the young people whose stories we will have the privilege of being part of next year.

𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗪𝗢 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝗔𝗚𝗢, 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗜𝗦 𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬 𝗕𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗡. ❤️

Before “keep coming back” became words we used, one young man taught us what they really meant.

When we first met Sive, he was 16 years old.

Every Friday evening, he would arrive with his hoodie pulled over his head. He kept his distance, avoided eye contact and barely participated in what we were doing.

So we didn't force him.

We simply kept showing up.

Friday after Friday.

We talked.
We listened.
We gave him space.

And then we came back again.

For months, very little seemed to change.

Until one evening, after about six or seven months, Sive finally told us why he had kept us at a distance.

𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴? 𝗡𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸.”

Those words have never left us.

Because Sive didn't need another person to arrive, do something good and disappear again.

He needed to know whether we would still be there next week.

So we kept coming back.

Slowly, something began to change.

The hoodie came down.

The conversations became longer.

There was laughter.

There were weekends together, church, meals around our table and ordinary moments spent with our family.

And in March 2025, we had the incredible privilege of watching Sive take another beautiful step in his journey when he was baptised.

Today, the young man who once kept us at a distance says something that we will never take lightly:

“𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆.”

And perhaps the most beautiful part of this story is this:

More than two years later...

𝗪𝗘'𝗥𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘. ❤️

Sive taught us that transformation doesn't always happen through one big moment.

Sometimes it happens through relationship.

Through consistency.

Through faith.

Through love.

Through showing up — and then showing up again.

𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗜𝗦 𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗪𝗘 𝗞𝗘𝗘𝗣 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞.

Because children and young people don't only need programmes.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆.
