Sinethemba Children’s care centre is a home situated in Korsten, founded by Signoria Qholani from kwa-Dwesi for under privileged, orphans, bush-dwellers (destitute), abandoned and abused kids. Signoria started the home in 1995 but established it in 2000 and in 2001 the NGO got registered. Signoria had been a street kid for 10 years which after she was taken in by different foster parents, the hard

ships of being destitute as a child motivated her to build a home for the needy as she never wished her ordeals on someone else. Sinethemba now has a committee of six members, of which all members are volunteers; it also takes in infants and kids up to the age of 18. Many take themselves to Sinethemba, while others are brought in by neighbours, police, hospitals, relatives and social workers.
