A quick hello & a note on something meaningful we’re building 🌱

I thought I’d pop on this platform quickly and introduce myself.

I’m Charne from Green Growth Revival (GGR). We work with parolees as well as individuals and children affected by crime, and right now, we’re working on something that’s really close to our hearts.

We are building a God Centred Eco Village!

The idea is simple, but powerful, self-sustainable.
1. We need to create a space where parolees become model citizens, and self-sufficient, in order to not re-offend again. That requires rehabilitation housing, access to food, skills training, and the chance to rebuild their lives in a sustainable way.
2. We need to offer a space where people who’ve been through really tough situations can have stability again, housing, access to food, skills training, and the chance to rebuild their lives, and stand on their own 2 feet.
3. We need to provide a space where safety and nurturing is key for our children and youth. They so desperately need safe housing, access to food, clothing, medicals, education, a love, a hope and a future.

This is a huge area of lack in Gqeberha currently. Places are over run, or closing down, or non-existent, which is why we operate mostly in the community, and need to urgently close the gap, not just provide short-term help, but something that actually changes futures.

We’re currently looking for the right partners to come alongside us, whether that’s individuals or businesses who want to be part of building something meaningful from the ground up.

There are different ways to get involved, from contributions to longer-term partnerships, a chance for exposure and growth. I’d really love to chat and see what might feel like a good fit for you.

We're seeking confident and motivated individuals to join our team as Voluntary Fundraisers. This remote position offers a chance to make a positive impact while gaining valuable experience and earning a recurring commission-based income.

From Prison Walls to Purpose-Driven Lives: The Redemption Journey Project by Green Growth Revival

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!” — Isaiah 43:18–19

At Green Growth Revival, we believe that true rehabilitation begins with opportunity, and that healing a life can help heal a community. Through our Prisoner Reintegration & Rehabilitation Project, we walk alongside carefully selected parolees who are truly committed to change—offering not just support, but a second lease on life grounded in dignity and real possibility. We want to change the stigma of "life is better in prison", to a "life is better, when I am better".

While we are looking at opening our own halfway house / farm, we work with partnered facility providers. Most prisoners have nowhere to go, which leads them back into a life of re-offending, we push to stop this, and give them the way to becoming model citizens again):
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Christian, Biblical based counselling
- A halfway house, where structure and restoration go hand in hand
- Skills development training to empower them for the workforce
- In-house employment opportunities to earn and rebuild
- Entrepreneurship guidance to launch purpose-filled small businesses

But our mission goes even deeper...
🌱 Cultivating Change from the Inside Out
We are actively working to bring farming and food-growing skills into correctional facilities, teaching inmates how to build and maintain veggie gardens and small-scale agricultural systems. These initiatives don't just provide vital skills—they create a cycle of giving. The food grown behind bars is redistributed to families and individuals facing food insecurity in surrounding communities.

Where Broken Beginnings Become Beautiful Futures – 10 Years of Hope with our foster home - The Baby House & Robin Fenn - JHB Foster Home

“And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.” — Matthew 18:5

Since 2014, Charne has stood alongside Robin Fenn and The Baby House—a safe haven for South Africa’s most vulnerable infants. 2024 when we officially registered GGR, we became a partnership with Robin, which has become a lifeline and safehouse for babies rescued from harsh, heartbreaking circumstances—some abandoned at birth, others removed from environments of abuse, neglect, or violent crime, BUT within the warm walls of The Baby House, their stories take a new turn.

Here, children are loved, nurtured, fed, and seen. Their physical wounds begin to heal—and slowly, so do their spirits. With every bottle fed and lullaby sung, these babies rediscover a sense of safety and belonging. Some are later successfully adopted or reunited with families, armed with the emotional foundation that only consistent love can build. Others—like the beautiful twins who have been fostered full time—continue to grow within a circle of care that truly feels like home.

Over the last decade, this journey has been made possible by compassion and by people like you.

Since 2011 The Baby House was a place of safety for abused and abandoned babies and toddlers and children. Charne worked in trying to secure funds and donations, but unfortunately due to lack of funding, they had to close their doors to new incomers. When GGR successfully registered, Robin partnered with us as a foster home, in hopes of opening their doors full time and full swing again. To date the destiny of 28 children has been radically and beautifully changed. Our safe house vision is to enlarge that number and create more homes with medical facilities. Our foster home is available to vulnerable children, designed more as a Modern Family than an orphanage. This family setup allows deep healing through safe, consistent and loving care. We know that healing trauma changes the trajectory of a child's life and opens so many healthy future opportunities. We also love helping parents to be able to keep their children and feel more empowered to provide for and support their children. We want to do a further reach in the community and the ability to create more facilities to support the community and also on a national scale. Over the years we have seen the power of healing trauma and supporting children and families on this journey, our goal is to continue our mission to transform trauma-2-trust.
