๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ Your vote shapes your community.

On 4 November 2026, South Africans will exercise their democratic right to vote in the Local Government Elections.

Local government is where governance meets our everyday lives. The quality of leadership, accountability and decision-making at local level has a direct bearing on communities, development and service delivery.

At the Raymond Mhlaba Centre for Governance and Leadership, we are committed to advancing conversations around ethical leadership, effective governance, democratic participation and sustainable development.

As we approach the Local Government Elections, we encourage everyone to stay informed, engage with the issues that matter to their communities, and participate in the democratic process.

Your voice matters. Your participation matters. Your vote matters.

4 November 2026 โ€” Exercise your democratic right. ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ

Last week, despite the challenging weather in Gqeberha, we were proud to host a successful Masterclass and Public Lecture as part of the 2026 Archbishop Thabo Makgoba Annual Lecture Series on Values-Based Leadership.

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who attended and contributed to these important conversations on ethical leadership, institutional accountability, and womenโ€™s economic empowerment. Your presence and engagement reaffirm the importance of creating spaces for courageous, values-driven dialogue.

Led by Dr Futhi Mtoba, the sessions challenged us to reimagine inclusive economies and institutions, reminding us that ethical leadership is not abstract, but a lived responsibility embedded in the decisions we make and the systems we shape.

A special thank you to our respondents, Ms Dante Hilton, Dr Dikeledi Mokoena, and Dr Jasmine Kinsman, for their insightful reflections and contributions that enriched the discussion.

Thank you for showing up and for being part of advancing a more just and inclusive society.
