September is World Alzheimer’s Month, and this year’s theme highlights the importance of early diagnosis. Dementia can affect much more than memory, and the changes are not always obvious at first. Knowing what to look out for can help families recognise when something is different and seek advice sooner. An early diagnosis can provide answers, make it easier to access appropriate support and give the person living with Alzheimers more opportunity to be involved in decisions about their future.
