The South African Youth Council Nelson Mandela Region || Participated in the Eastern Cape Youth Parliament with a diverse delegation of 15 young leaders representing organised labour, higher education, sports, disability advocacy, civil society, entrepreneurship, faith-based organisations and various political formations.
United by a common vision, we advanced bold proposals on youth economic empowerment, including a dedicated Department of Youth and Small Business Development, increased support for youth entrepreneurship and skills development, while also championing a youth-led movement against Gender-Based Violence, Femicide and other social ills through prevention, education, positive masculinity, mental health support and economic empowerment.
We acknowledge the progress made by government, but remain committed to advocating for greater urgency, coordination and investment to ensure that every young person in the Eastern Cape has access to opportunity, safety, dignity and a future they can help shape.
